Today we’d like to introduce you to Bruno Dalfito.
Hi Bruno, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Bruno, and I started tattooing when I was 17 years old in a small town in the countryside of Brazil. After four years working in my hometown, I moved to São Paulo, where I was invited to work at a studio. A year and a half later, I opened my own studio in the city.
Six years after that, I had the opportunity to come to the United States. I spent six months tattooing in New York before discovering Charlotte — a city I quickly fell in love with. I worked at a local studio for a year and a half, where I was warmly welcomed and had the chance to learn English. Today, I run my own private studio in Crescent NoDa, where I continue doing what I love most: turning stories into art.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a tough journey, but I’ve been adapting. I struggled with the language barrier for two years, but I’ve learned English and continue to adapt every day. I’ve also been refining my technique and improving more and more with each day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a tattoo artist specializing in realism — both black & grey and color. I’m known for creating detailed, expressive pieces that bring my clients’ ideas and stories to life. With over 12 years of experience, I’ve developed a strong eye for composition, contrast, and flow, especially in large-scale projects like sleeves and back pieces.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come since starting at 17 in a small town in Brazil. I faced many challenges — especially moving to a new country and learning a new language — but I’ve stayed focused on growing as an artist and as a person. Today, I have my own private studio in Charlotte, and I’ve had the honor of winning several awards at tattoo conventions.
What sets me apart is not only my technical ability but the care I put into every project. I see tattooing as a collaboration, and I work closely with each client to create something meaningful and one-of-a-kind.
