Today we’d like to introduce you to Derrick Bryant.
Hi Derrick, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Raleigh-based photographer that is madly in love with photography. Secondly, I’m a father, husband, and lover of life. I’m truly blessed to have such a wonderful family that supported and encouraged me to further pursue my passion and to start my photography business. I’m a wedding and lifestyle photographer. My journey started in 2010. Prior to shooting professionally, I was a hobbyist shooting in my spare time. I’m extremely proud to have my son, Kylen to work along beside me.
Nothing excites me more than working with clients to capture their beautiful moments to create authentic works of art. My number one goal, regardless of a wedding or portrait session, is to ensure my clients have fun and have an enjoyable experience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely was not a smooth road. It took my some time to break in the wedding industry. My biggest struggle was building a name and brand. It was difficult to convince other wedding professionals to give me a chance.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m mainly a wedding photographer. We know there are many photographers that can take a picture but for me, it is about the emotional response and journey in creating an image. I believe that everyone deserves beautiful images of their big day. I focus on capturing candid moments and natural expressions on your wedding day. Our approach is to create fine art photography; photography that can stand the test of time.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I used to love to buy disposable cameras and take photos. I remember the excitement to get the photos back and seeing my work.
