Hi Dominique, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My path into the fashion industry was a one-of-a-kind adventure, ignited by the unwavering support of my mother and friends. Their belief in my potential propelled me to venture into modeling. As I treaded through the industry, I discovered the joy of collaborating with local brands, not just to establish my own identity, but also to amplify their visibility. This symbiotic relationship was a defining feature of my early career.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If this were a smooth road, I wouldn’t appreciate it as I do now. Finding genuine people willing to take a chance on you is hard when you still need to get a name.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a model/stylist/photographer. The enormous hat I wear is being a model. I feel like I have a style and look that’s not seen too often, and I like that it’s still unique. I’m proud that I’m different and like showing that you can be yourself while looking cool and comfy. The fact I can style myself for my photos sets me apart from others, but also, from a stylist’s point of view, I can figure out what works for you but will also be something different for you.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Just keep going. Every day is not your day. Every moment is not for you. Just keep working, and your time will come. When it does, make sure you shine.
