Today we’d like to introduce you to Janaysha Ndupu.
Hi Janaysha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m Janaysha Ndupu, a Wedding + Lifestyle Photographer and Wedding & Event content creator passionate about capturing beauty, love, and purpose through my lens. My work is deeply rooted in my love for Jesus, He is the foundation of my creativity and the reason I’m able to see and appreciate the artistry in every moment.
My creative foundation has been years in the making, shaped by a deep-rooted passion for photography, storytelling, and over six years immersed in social media. my journey with storytelling began long before that. I’ve spent over six years immersed in social media, building, creating, and learning how to connect through visuals. From taking photos and vlogging to now running my own brand, every step has shaped the way I create today.
With a degree in Fashion Merchandising, I bring an editorial and elevated perspective to everything I shoot. I’m inspired by the beauty of creation—the way light hits, the emotion in a glance, the details people often overlook. I truly love the artistry of it all, and being able to capture love, authenticity, and real moments is something I don’t take lightly.
I also have a heart for helping brands come to life visually. I create imagery that not only looks beautiful but converts turning ideas into visuals that tell a story, connect with an audience, and leave a lasting impression.
For me, photography is more than just taking pictures, it’s about creating something meaningful, something timeless, and something that reflects both beauty and purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While I have always been super creative and business mindset , in school we are taught to be employee minded. we go through school to eventually get the “dream job” working for someone else but that wasn’t my dream.
My journey into entrepreneurship required more than talent, it required transformation. Shifting from an employee mindset to an entrepreneurial one challenged me to think beyond limitation, to embrace discipline, and to trust vision over comfort. It meant unlearning fear, releasing the need for certainty, and choosing faith daily. I had to see differently, move differently, and believe in what God placed in me before the world ever affirmed it.
That process shaped the way I create.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
In photography, risk shows up in the decision to create before you feel ready—to step into rooms you once only imagined and claim space without waiting for permission. As I continue to emerge, I’m embracing what it means to be the first in my family to pursue entrepreneurship at this level, carrying both the weight and the beauty of that responsibility. I aspire to work with the brands I’ve long admired and to be invited into spaces like fashion shows where vision and culture intersect but I understand those opportunities are on the other side of boldness. Success isn’t built by playing it safe; it’s found in the moments you choose growth over comfort, faith over fear, and purpose over hesitation. Every risk I take is shaping not just my career, but the legacy I’m building.
