Hi JaNiece , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi, I’m JaNiece Toi Foxx, owner of Toi Foxx Hair Studio and founder of REVIVE by Toi Foxx. I’m originally from the Metro Detroit area, but I’ve called North Carolina home for a little over ten years now.
I’ve been in the beauty industry for about fifteen years, and my passion has always been healthy hair care and helping clients truly understand how to care for their hair. Through my salon and my hair restoration brand, I focus on educating women and creating personalized experiences that help them restore their hair, their confidence, and their sense of self. For me, it’s not just about styling — it’s about transformation and long-term wellness for the hair and scalp
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a bit of a bumpy road but I am still standing by the grace of God.
As a small business owner you have to be prepared for the ebbs and flows that come with this industry. Things like the shutdown during Covid or even the current economy we are in. You have to think of ways to keep your clients coming in without them having to worry about breaking the bank or falling behind on their haircare regimens-because consistency is key when it comes to a great hair care regimen.

I’m a healthy hair care and hair loss restoration specialist, and I’ve been in the industry for over 15 years. My passion is helping women restore not just their hair, but their confidence. I’m originally from the metro Detroit area, and after moving to North Carolina a little over a decade ago, I built Toi Foxx Hair Studio with the goal of creating a space where clients feel seen, educated, and cared for.
I specialize in healthy hair maintenance, natural textures, and scalp restoration through my new brand, REVIVE by Toi Foxx, which focuses on solutions for hair loss and overall scalp health. What I’m most proud of is being able to see real transformations, not just in hair growth, but in how my clients carry themselves once they start to feel like themselves again.
What sets me apart is my personalized approach. I don’t just style hair; I teach my clients how to care for it. I believe education is empowerment, and that’s something I try to pour into every appointment. My clients know they’re not just getting a service they’re getting a partner in their healthy hair journey.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up as the middle child of five, I was pretty shy and spoke so quietly that people sometimes had to lean in just to hear me. That all changed when my mom signed me up for cheerleading. I finally found my voice and realized I loved expressing myself. Even as a kid, I was always playing with someone’s hair, my cousins, classmates, or my own, long before I knew it would turn into my passion and career.
I’ve always had a strong work ethic, starting my first job at 14 as a “Play Pal” at McDonald’s, and later working in logistics, customer service, and even as a flight attendant. Those experiences taught me patience, professionalism, and how to genuinely care for people, lessons I carry with me every day in my salon.
What really drives me is helping clients understand their hair. I know how frustrating it can be to sit in a salon, leave with questions unanswered, or feel like your time wasn’t valued. That’s why I make education and personalized care a priority. I want every client to leave feeling confident, empowered, and armed with the knowledge to keep their hair healthy and beautiful long after they’ve left my chair.
