Hi Jenneh, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey with “Glitz n Glam Events NC” started unexpectedly in 2019 when I was planning my 7th anniversary vow renewal. It was meant to be a small, intimate backyard gathering (with no Plan B in sight), but of course, NC weather is unpredictable. What started as a calm, warm week suddenly turned into a winter blizzard by the weekend, forcing me to scramble for a last-minute venue and décor within hours.

Almost every venue—big or small—was fully booked or couldn’t accommodate an event on such short notice. By the morning of the renewal, we were still making calls—stressed but hopeful—until we finally got a response from a venue that could fit over 100 guests. It wasn’t my ideal choice, especially with a guest count under 15, but it was our only option, and it came with a hefty price tag. We quickly contacted our guests just a couple of hours before the event to update them on the change of plans.

Despite the chaos, I managed to pull off a stunning and successful event—and I actually enjoyed my vow renewal. That experience proved to me that I had a natural talent for event production. It was in that moment that my passion for transforming spaces and creating unforgettable experiences was born.

From there, I built “Glitz n Glam Events NC”, specializing in high-end, full service events decor and production with a focus on storytelling, precision, and professionalism. Over time, I’ve gained a reputation for my attention to detail and ability to create meaningful, personalized designs.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, the road has had its challenges, but every obstacle has been a lesson that shaped me into the being the event designer I am today.
One of the biggest hurdles i faced was establishing my unique voice in a competitive industry. I had to refine my brand, build strong client relationships, and ensure my work reflected not just beautiful aesthetics but meaningful storytelling, because every event tells a story and behind every celebration, is a story..

Another challenge i faced was balancing creativity with the business side of things—learning how to structure my processes, marketing effectively, and creating a seamless client experience.
I’ve invested in continuous learning, taken high-level business courses, and refined my approach to ensure that every event is not just visually stunning but also deeply personal and stress-free for my clients.

While the journey hasn’t always been smooth, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Every challenge has reinforced my passion for creating unforgettable event experiences, and I’m more dedicated than ever to making *Glitz n Glam Events NC* the go-to choice for those who want elevated, meaningful events.

I am the owner and Lead designer of GlitznGlam Events NC.
Glitz n Glam Events NC, is a high-end, full service event design and floral styling company located in Durham, NorthCarolina.
My passion lies in creating beautifully curated experiences that feel personal, intentional, and unforgettable. I don’t just design events—I tell stories through my work, ensuring that every detail reflects my clients’ personalities, cultures, and unique love stories.

What sets me apart is my ability to transform spaces with precision and creativity, even under pressure. My journey into this industry started with a personal event where I had to pull off a last-minute transformation due to unexpected weather. That experience taught me adaptability, problem-solving, and the importance of crafting spaces that not only look beautiful but also feel meaningful.

I’m most proud of the way my clients trust me to bring their visions to life. What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say resilience and adaptability are key, but equally important are dependability and empathy.
The event industry can be Crazy and unpredictable—things don’t always go as planned, and you have to pivot quickly while still delivering excellence.

My journey into event designing started with a last-minute challenge, and that experience shaped how I work today.

No matter the obstacle, my clients know they can count on me to stay calm, find solutions, and make things work beautifully.

Being empathetic also plays a big role in my success. Planning an event can be overwhelming for clients, and I always strive to listen, understand their vision, and make the process as stress-free as possible. My goal is to create spaces that reflect not only their style but their emotions and values as well.

Attention to detail is another big one. I believe the magic of an event is in the small, intentional touches that make it feel personal and unforgettable. My clients trust me because I don’t just design events—I curate experiences that reflect their unique stories.

Above all, my passion for what I do keeps me going. I genuinely love transforming spaces and creating moments that people will cherish forever.

Every event is unique, and our pricing is based on the specific needs, wants, and vision of our clients. Rather than itemizing costs like a salesperson, we focus on creating tailored experiences that align with our clients’ budgets and expectations. However, to ensure the quality and level of service we provide, we currently have a minimum investment of $3,500. This allows us to deliver the creativity, attention to detail, and personalized design that *Glitz n Glam Events NC* is known for.
