Conversations with Jennifer Mason

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Mason.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I’m a jersey girl at heart. I was born and raised in NJ, where I learned various tools that are the foundation of the life I have today. As a child, my mother would breathe self-worth, self-love, and value into my sisters and me. My mother is my biggest inspiration. She showed me the ropes when it comes to navigating life, love and its unexpected changes.

I’ve taken this wisdom and created a movement for single women. I help women heal from a heartbreak and learn to date from, a confident secure place. Oddly enough I did not want the platform I have now. (@singleladynotes on IG). I created the page to vent about my own frustrations with love anonymously. Then my tribe found me and it was history from there.

I’ve been privileged to have started my journey with entrepreneurship in 2012 in the MLM industry since then written two books, start an online dating Bootcamp, hosted my first retreat, started an online store, and even have my clothing in the lounge in crabtree (owned by Gerrikka Bunche). I would be remiss not to mention that I’ve also had my share of adversity.

I’ve always been ambitious. I’ve had sets back from schooling, to also getting in trouble with the law but, these set back were the fuel needed to create the reality I have now. As I’m approaching 35 years of age, I’m extremely blessed to have been able to create the life I have now.

My Mission: To inspire and build women (young and old) all over the world to walk by faith and not by sight. To teach women to always have confidence that their right now doesn’t have to be their forever. Through my life and testimony, I plan to ignite the desire in women to come together and live in harmony.

Doing this all with faith, class, experience and most importantly love.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth whew not all lol, however, my faith in Christ has gotten me through every time.

When doors were closed in my face God opened them, I remember having to drop out of school. I later decided to go back but in a different field. I applied and on orientation, I was pulled to the side and told I would never get a job, not even an internship because of my past.

I was crushed and wanted to give up but God said “No.” Go forth and I did. I got an internship at a doctor’s office that then hired me and never hired a student from the school. My faith in God from this point forward was on fire. I’ve seen many bad days but heavens perspective has saved me time after time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most proud of my work as an author. I never thought I would write not one but two books.

My gift of writing has helped woman all over the world find their way to or back Christ, heal their hearts from trauma, and inspired them to never give up on themselves or true love. Writing my book came easy. I wrote a blog in march of 2013 about a broken engagement I experience and the blog went viral. I knew in that instant my story wasn’t about me.

I knew that God was using you even if it hurt sometimes. One challenge I experienced was “what will people think” after reading my story. Now, I do not care haha. The impact matters to me the most. Hearing the stories of how women walked out shame because I spoke up matters more to me than anything negative. I want the world to know my brand isn’t perfect, polished, or over-critical.

My brand has created a safe space for women to be themselves and grow. While some say there is a seat at the table for all, I’m really providing one. I do not get caught up in trends or the hype of having a huge community or reach. I focus on being myself and showing up authentically for my sisters.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Hands down my relationship with God. He really does not play about me, and in return, I’ve surrendered my life to his will. When I’m asked how I became successful, my answer will always be obedience.
