Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolanny Lopez.
Hi Jolanny, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first opened up my Instagram account in 2018 after losing my unborn son at 38 weeks pregnant. I opened my Instagram to find other moms who went through what I was going through and also bring awareness towards stillbirth. Shortly after that, I discovered I was pregnant again with my now 2-year-old daughter, Elsie.
I started documenting my journey through motherhood. I truly enjoy exploring my city and finding fun things to do with my children! Motherhood has so many joys and it’s such a huge part of my life so I thought, hey, why not share it?
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think no road is smooth. Motherhood is just a bunch of curveballs being thrown at you! It’s so spontaneous and such a spur-of-the-moment experience! Losing a child was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I had to learn how to parent a son in heaven, while still parenting my son on earth, while at the same time dealing with my grieve and learning to live with it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a toddler teacher. I genuinely love what I do! I’ve been working with children my whole life! I love little ones and being able to have an impact on their lives. I call myself their “life coach” because during the toddler stage there’s more emotional support than anything else.
For example, helping them find ways to cope with certain situations, helping them express themselves with peers, and helping them understand their own emotions too!
What’s next?
A dream of mine has always been to write a children’s book! I always have that in the back of my mind and am always brainstorming!
