Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Taylor.

Kimberly Taylor

Hi Kimberly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
This journey started back when my daughters were in daycare, and they had Dr. Suess week. I decided that I was going to try to make them a shirt myself even though I had never tried it. I went to the local hobby lobby and picked up a few things that I would need to make thing one and thing two shirts and went home to see what became of my crazy idea. Once done, I was impressed by what I did, and that started my passion for making shirts. I kept practicing and trying to perfect my craft, and little by little adding in extra things to bring in extra income. Soon after, I was able to make my craft an official LLC (2 Cautee Designs LLC.) This journey has been fun, but it hasn’t been easy. I’ve definitely wanted to give up multiple times due to having to fund everything myself and seeing that so many others are also in this business, but I am still here today and will continue to do so as long as I am able. My plans are to expand and hopefully have a storefront if I can find the necessary grants/funding to do so. Also, be on the lookout for my brand Pain to Glory. This is something that is in the works, and once done, you will get a backstory of how I came up with that name.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anyone would be lying if they said having a small business was a smooth road. Some of my struggles that I have endured are:

Funding

Multiple people in the same business

Not knowing how to price products (sometimes I would break even, or sometimes lose)

Finding loyal clientele

Everything I have done has been trial and error, and I am slowly working my way towards success!!!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been working for ECPPS for 4 years now, and I absolutely love my job. Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to work with and help people, and that’s where god has placed me. There definitely have been ups and downs with the job, but just to see that I can put a smile on the kids’ faces or to hear them constantly calling my names makes feel as if I am doing something right. I have been working with kindergarten, and I enjoy it. I love helping mold the kids and prepare them for their bright futures, and I am looking for more years to come with ECPPS.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve had good luck and bad. When I have bad luck, it just pushes me even the more because I know what I am capable of.
