Conversations with Monica Evans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Evans.

Hi Monica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our brand was created in January 2020 as I was dealing with a lot of anxiety due to COVID-19 and an increase in visible racial injustices. Our church was going through a series Anxious for Nothing which focused on scriptures in Philippians 4. This series resonated with me and Peace Fournine Apparel LLC. was birthed. I designed for a few months and opened our online store on June 19, 2020.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I have learned how to do a lot of things I was not exposed to at all such as coding. I have spent a lot of time reading and watching how-to videos to get our website up to par. Another struggle as a new business owner is exposure and building trust with new customers. Opening a new business during COVID-19 has been challenging. Fortunately, family and friends have been very instrumental in purchasing, sharing, and spreading the news about Peace Fournine Apparel LLC.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Project Management Professional. I was a single mother of two daughters until later in life. I worked full-time. I am proud of completing my graduate as an adult learner. This taught me many life lessons that have prepared me to be a business owner.

How do you define success?
Honestly, that is a very difficult question. My definition of success is having peace of mind over your life. All of our lives are predestined. It is the acceptance of God’s process for your life that is success to me.
