Today we’d like to introduce you to Priscila Budway.
Hi Priscila, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am 44 years old, and emigrated from Brazil in 1994.
My journey has been one with all the struggles of an immigrant and I am proud to be where I am today. Starting this new business is the cherry on the top of all of my dreams, giving all immigrant women the hope to follow their hearts.
I’ve always had a love of flowers, the outdoors, making incredible memories, and living life to the fullest.
Dining under the stars, enjoying music that moves the soul, and taking in all this beautiful life has to offer are also very important to me. I also enjoy creating memorable experiences for the people that I love.
I thought, what better way to combine so many things that bring me joy than to provide good food, and beautiful surroundings, in fun, intimate, and unique places. I’ve had over 20 years of experience in the industry and when the opportunity showed up, I did not think twice about using it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has only been two months and so far it has been a joy. I was taken by surprise at how well it started, with bookings on the very same day I opened.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
This is a Luxury Picnic Company, which provides beautiful elegant dining experiences. We specialize in bringing your idea to reality, you give me the basics, like the type of event, style, and things you love, and I’ll make the best out of it to wow you.
I work with top-of-the-line vendors, such as Wildflora Flowers farm, Triangle Urban Farm, Caswell Flower Company, Barn Of Chapel Hill, Craftlistic, Pros Epecurian, Wholesome Eats by Chef Dori Blau, VPizza, and working with future partnerships to provide always the TOP of the line experience.
I am well known for sharing the love in everything I do, for making that extra special touch, and for making you feel special. I am proud of taking this idea to the next level, of everything that I have achieved so far, and that I am able to send the message of love with my work.
To tell you the truth, I don’t feel that I am different than anybody else. I am just a hard-working, passionate woman that cares about other humans and the environment.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz was life-changing to me.
A podcast about death called Finitude in my native language, Portuguese, was very helpful with the loss of my Father last year. After a trip to Yellowstone National Park, I got interested in the wolves and the community that studies them.
I am fascinated with the amount of dedication that they do to record the incredible lives of wolves and equally fascinated with how the wolves work as a pack.
