Conversations with Ramxes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramxes.

Ramxes

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am one part of Interstellar, which I started in Houston, TX, as Ramxes. Then, it was just me doing the marketing, the music, and handling all of the business. With my degree and background in business, it was difficult but somewhat manageable. After years of making music, I got a record deal with Italians Do It Better and released a record under them and a remix to the theme of The Shining. That was when covid started. It was an exciting new door, and I got to meet some interesting people. After that release, I went to release music independently again because I felt the value, I could provide myself was equal to my experience there. Today I am now with Superior Music Publishing and doing work with many others. This was made possible due to my work as Ramxes and bringing on my business partner, Interstellar Bobo, on YouTube. We tested out many formulas, popularized certain formats, and went through a very rigorous and strenuous process to get to where we are now. We are still working and hoping to get even further as I look to enter creating music for movies and games!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been smooth. As I mentioned earlier my work with the music industry enlightened me to why a lot of artists get robbed, and on the business side why some stuff isn’t as bad to play devil’s advocate but is just business. The move from Texas to North Carolina was primarily out of a decision to be closer to the east coast, which has been an arduous journey in itself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in making Trip-Hop music and alternative music. Which has allowed me to meet people I listened to in high school and college. I even have something in the works with someone who inspired me to start creating music. I feel my focus on futurism and forward-thinking designs and visuals alongside actually playing instruments, set me apart from others.

What’s next?
We never know what the future holds, but I hope the publishing deal with Superior works out and that people enjoy some of the music I am working on with some of my inspirations. I also hope people continue to enjoy the designs and content we bring on Intergalactic Outlaw and Interstellar Bobo alongside my music as Ramxes.
