Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhochell Smith.
Rhochell , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my journey as a Military spouse traveling all over the world with my husband. As time went on and living all over the country. An early age, I became a military spouse and moved all over the country with my family. I began to learn different cultures and see the world in a whole new perspective by doing that early in my career. I had several different jobs and I finally decided that healthcare and some kind of service job was my calling. I was married to that husband for over 20 years and it ended it sadly in a divorce. This is where my calling to help others and share with others how to be resilient how to overcome challenges and how to continue life after those obstacles. Right after Covid and years of struggle with depression, loneliness, sadness, I decided to become a life coach. I am a care coordinator for wounded injured, and ill service members that are struggling with PTSDTBI any mental health issues as well as illnesses in short that is my story.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I struggled with depression, anxiety and it was a hard long road. I had to find myself and be ok with who I was going to become. I had to look at my struggle and find growth and opportunity from it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I assist Service members who are wounded injured or ill recover, rehabilitate or transition to civilian life. I advocate for them and assist with benefits and entitlements they deserve and are eligible for. Lastly I provide personal emotional support for them through the whole process for them and their families.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was outgoing and very busy as my
Mother says lol. I love Sports and was a track star. I spent most of my time hanging with friends since I was kind of an only child.
