ShaRelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Photography was never just a job for me—it became my voice, my confidence, and eventually my business.
I started ShaRelle Studios over a decade ago, initially drawn to photography as a creative outlet. Like many creatives, I didn’t begin with a perfectly mapped plan. I simply knew I loved storytelling and connection. Early on, I photographed everything—families, couples, weddings—learning not just how to use a camera, but how to read people, guide them, and make them feel comfortable being seen.
As my experience grew, so did my understanding of what truly sets meaningful photography apart. It’s not about perfection—it’s about trust. It’s about creating a space where someone feels safe enough to be themselves.
That realization is what eventually led me into boudoir photography, which has become one of the most powerful parts of my work. I saw how transformative it could be when someone finally sees themselves through a kinder lens. Many of my clients come in nervous, unsure, or disconnected from their bodies—and they leave standing taller, smiling differently, and carrying a renewed sense of confidence. Being part of that moment never gets old.
What I’m most proud of isn’t the portfolio—it’s the relationships. Many of my clients return year after year, bringing new chapters of their lives with them. That trust is everything to me.
At its core, ShaRelle Studios exists to remind people—especially women—that they are worthy of being seen, celebrated, and documented exactly as they are.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve built and rebuilt my business through recessions and multiple moves—from Shreveport to Baton Rouge and eventually North Carolina. Each move meant starting fresh, which was both scary and humbling. But every time, things found a way to fall into place. Those challenges forced me to grow, adapt, and trust the process, and they ultimately made the business stronger.

I specialize in confidence-driven photography, with a strong focus on boudoir. I’m known for creating a fully guided, empowering experience where clients feel comfortable, supported, and truly seen. What I’m most proud of is the confidence my clients walk away with. What sets me apart is my ability to combine technical experience with emotional awareness—helping people feel just as good as they look in their photos.
