Conversations with Stephanie Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Jenkins

Hi Stephanie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My husband is a serial entrepreneur & has been in sales & marketing for over 20 years. When he began his last company, I started to help his clients & small companies with Social Media & content creation and I found a passion for it! It helped me feel like I had an identity outside of being a mom of 3 without having to sacrifice any of my time with the babies.

I took over his company in December of 2023, rebranded to Social by Stephanie in March of 2024, and really started to build a brand that I felt represented me.

After rebranding, I began to pursue networking opportunities where I met SO many amazing content creators. I started to explore creating content for local businesses and met so many amazing, supportive women that my business (in both content creation & social media management) really took off! Now I’m trying to figure out if my content creation account needs to be different than my Socisl media business account — so
Stay tuned & follow @socialbystephanie to know where I’ll be!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would like to meet anyone that has built a company or a brand that had a smooth road! 😂

While each new project brings its own pitfalls, my willingness and eagerness to continuously improve is my greatest attribute. I’m always learning and pushing boundaries to positively impact brands in a crowded digital space.

The biggest challenge I have is work-life balance. My family has always been my number 1 priority, and so to take time away from them to build something for me has felt unnatural at times. However, I have learned that when running your own business there can be silver linings if you look closely. These challenges have pushed me to think outside of the box and to look around for talented individuals to add to my team so that I can stay on top of my personal brand AND all of my social media clients.

As I’m sure there will always be more challenges, I strongly believe if I’m not uncomfortable — I’m not growing — so here’s to staying uncomfortable while I grow! 🙏🏼

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do all kinds of things! Full service social media management, content creation, branding, web design, sales consulting, email marketing. I wear a lot of hats!

Content creation & social media management are my favorite. Content creation allows me to have a personal flare and to be involved in creating content with the most creativity since it’s all my brand — and that’s the most comfortable for me! In addition, I specialize in creating edgy, attention grabbing content & helping woman owned businesses that want to outsource their online presence without having to sacrifice their brand.

I think the biggest thing that sets me apart from other brands is I try to educate business owners. We don’t gatekeep strategy over here — when you work with small businesses social media management is a lot of money, it’s a luxury. And so if I’m teaching them, 1. They want to keep me around because I’m being honest & teaching them along the way, but also 2. If the economy goes and I’m the first they have to let go, at least they have the tools they need now to continue on their growth path the best way that they can. I’m into supporting other businesses in their growth, not just my own.

I’m probably most proud of my growth analytics. 🥹 what I do works, and it shows (and my reports are SO pretty 😂)

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
There’s a few qualities I think really set me apart and continue to bring me success, I think the MOST important quality is probably that in my rebrand, I embraced being a “girly-girl” because doing the boring corporate thing wasn’t my style & didn’t feel authentic to me (& so it wasn’t selling). After I made everything pink & fancy, I began to draw in my dream clients. 🥹😍

So in short:
1. Leaning into being girly/fancy schmancy AND being a girl boss at the same time.
2. AUTHENTICITY
3. Communication!!! I try really hard to make sure all my clients feel like I am working for them and them only. I stay in constant communication with clients to insure they receive assistance when they need it..Every relationship really matters to me!
