Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffani Lake

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I like to say I started this business by accident. The idea had always been in the back of my mind, but it never felt like the right time. In 2023, at 8 months pregnant, I took on the task of planning my own baby shower, and it turned out to be so much fun. That experience gave me the confidence to realize I could style events, although I still wasn’t sure where to start. In April 2024, I began offering balloon garlands to anyone willing to purchase their own balloons. This was my first step into the business, and it helped me learn how to communicate with customers, design mockups, and build my portfolio. Fast forward to September 2024, when I was accepted into a women’s entrepreneurial program hosted by a local nonprofit. This program helped me turn my passion into a legitimate business. I officially launched my LLC on October 3rd, and since then, it’s been full speed ahead.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth ride? Definitely not, haha! This whole journey has been a series of valuable learning experiences. I truly believe that to be successful, you need to always maintain a student mindset. Things don’t always go as planned, but there’s one story I have to share. I’ve always known I wanted to decorate full events, not just provide balloon decor. When I received my first opportunity to decorate an entire event, it, was anything but smooth. I was so excited to bring the client’s vision to life, but then… it rained and stormed. All of my decorations ended up flying across the client’s backyard! I was devastated but guess what, I just picked everything up and started over 🙂

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional event planner dedicated to bringing your event vision to life. What sets me apart from other planners is my approach and the way I connect with my clients. When you work with me, you get a true partner who takes the time to listen carefully and deliver exactly what you need. I’m passionate about what I do, and that passion shines through in every interaction I have with my clients. I’m most proud of the relationships I’m building not only with my clients but with other professionals as well.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Canva is my go-to tool, and I rely on it for about 75% of my business. In addition to Canva, I use Pinterest frequently for inspiration and creating vision boards. Lately, I’ve also been really inspired by other designers’ work across various social media platforms.
