Hi Valen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey to where I am today has been shaped by service, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping others feel confident in their own skin.
I spent over two decades serving in the U.S. Army, where leadership, discipline, and care for people were central to everything I did. Throughout that time, I was always drawn to wellness, self-care, and the science behind skin health — especially how confidence can change the way people show up in the world.
After years of balancing service, family, and personal growth, I made the decision to formally pursue esthetics and advanced skincare. In 2025, I graduated esthetics school and founded Picture Perfect Esthetics LLC, driven by a desire to offer results-driven treatments that go beyond relaxation and truly transform skin.
Building my business hasn’t been without challenges, but every obstacle reinforced my purpose. Today, Picture Perfect Esthetics LLC is a growing advanced skincare studio known for customized corrective treatments, education-driven care, and a welcoming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered.
My story is one of reinvention — taking everything I learned through service and leadership and channeling it into a business that helps others feel confident, radiant, and unapologetically themselves.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road — but a meaningful one.
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, there were challenges from the very beginning. Transitioning from a long military career into entrepreneurship meant learning an entirely new world — from licensing, compliance, and finances to marketing, client retention, and brand building — often all at once. There were moments of doubt, long hours, and real growing pains.
I also faced the realities many small business owners experience: navigating trust and boundaries, managing cash flow, and learning how to protect my brand while still leading with integrity. Balancing business ownership with family responsibilities and the emotional weight of starting something from scratch required resilience and adaptability.
Each obstacle forced me to grow — not just as a business owner, but as a leader. Those struggles sharpened my vision, strengthened my systems, and reinforced my commitment to building something sustainable and authentic.
The road hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has played a role in shaping the business and the confidence I have today.

At the heart of my work is helping people feel confident in their skin through results-driven, personalized care.
I am the founder and lead esthetician of Picture Perfect Esthetics LLC, an advanced skincare studio specializing in corrective and restorative treatments. My work focuses on acne management, hyperpigmentation, skin rejuvenation, and anti-aging, using a blend of advanced technology and proven skincare science. I specialize in customized treatment plans that may include modalities like Hydrafacials, Glo2 Facial, oxygen therapy, microchanneling, exosome therapy, chemical peels, and skin-tightening treatments — always tailored to the individual, never one-size-fits-all.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Many come in feeling frustrated or discouraged after trying countless products or treatments with little success. Seeing them regain confidence as their skin improves — and knowing they feel supported and educated throughout the process — is incredibly rewarding.
What truly sets me apart is my approach. I lead with education, honesty, and long-term skin health rather than quick fixes. My background in leadership and service deeply influences how I care for my clients: I listen, I assess thoroughly, and I build treatment plans that are realistic, sustainable, and effective. I’m also known for creating a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients feel seen and empowered.
I’m proud not just of the treatments I offer, but of the community I’m building — one rooted in integrity, excellence, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel confident and cared for in their own skin.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that growth requires both courage and boundaries.
Early on, I believed that working harder and saying yes to everything was the key to success. Over time, I learned that true growth comes from being intentional — about who you partner with, how you protect your time and energy, and the standards you set for yourself and your business. Not every opportunity is aligned, and not everyone deserves access to what you’re building.
I’ve also learned to trust the process and my own instincts. Challenges don’t mean you’re failing — they’re often signs that you’re stretching into something bigger. When I stopped chasing perfection and focused on consistency, clarity, and purpose, everything began to shift.
That lesson has shaped how I lead, how I serve my clients, and how I show up for myself: with confidence, discernment, and a commitment to long-term impact over short-term wins.
