Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Ramey.
Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Back in college, I experienced depression for the first time. I didn’t have the tools or language to understand what was happening, so I sought out therapy—and that decision changed the trajectory of my life. What began as a personal healing journey soon became a calling.
In January 2020, I started my master’s program to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. The classroom gave me knowledge, but it was my internship that shaped me most deeply. I had the privilege of training under Tabitha Westbrook at The Journey and The Process in Wake Forest, NC. There, I was immersed in the world of trauma care, post-abuse recovery, somatic work, and embodied healing. That experience wrecked me—in the best possible way.
After graduating and becoming licensed, I returned to work at the practice, where I now serve women through individual counseling, groups, intensives, and retreats. My passion is helping women understand how they’re wired, reclaim their power, and live more connected to themselves—especially after trauma or seasons of disconnection.
Over time, I started noticing a gap: so many women lacked access to basic, life-giving tools that should be part of everyday life. That realization sparked something in me and led to the birth of Co.Amanda.Ramey—a space where I offer practical, therapeutic tools to support women in their healing, growth, and embodiment journeys, even outside the therapy room.
I created this business because healing shouldn’t only happen within the four walls of a therapy office. Therapy is powerful, and I deeply believe in its ability to create lasting, transformative change. But often, therapy is where we lay the groundwork—building a foundation of awareness, regulation, and resilience so that deeper healing can take root.
The reality is, not everyone is ready for therapy. Some women are unsure where to start, some don’t feel emotionally safe enough to dive in just yet, and others face barriers like time, finances, or lack of access. I wanted to bridge that gap—to provide accessible, approachable resources that support healing in the everyday moments. Tools that help women begin rebuilding their sense of safety, reconnect with themselves, and take meaningful steps forward—no matter where they are on their journey.
Through digital downloads, audio guides Co.AmandaRamey exists to meet women right where they are and equip them with practical tools for grounding, self-awareness, and emotional wellness. Whether someone is just beginning to explore their inner world or is actively engaged in therapy, these resources are meant to support her in creating a life of intention, wholeness, and embodied peace.
This work is deeply personal to me. It’s a reflection of my own healing journey and the countless stories I’ve had the honor of holding. My hope is that through Co.AmandaRamey, women feel seen, supported, and empowered to come home to themselves—at their own pace, in their own way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! Healing is a journey, one that includes so many stumbling blocks, back peddling, frustration, and really…mess! I have struggled immensely with imposter syndrome since becoming a clinician and coach and often wonder if my voice has significance in the sea of information. But what I come back to often is empowering and holding space for others is always significant. Another hurdle is certainly my own healing journey. I still have emotional dips from time to time and am still uncovering some of my own trauma. It’s not easy but worth it to continue on the journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work centers around helping women heal—really heal. I’m a trauma-informed coach, counselor, and educator, and I specialize in supporting women who often carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Many of the women I work with are caregivers, people-pleasers, or peacemakers who’ve spent years disconnected from their own needs, desires, and sense of self. My goal is always the same: to equip women with the tools, insight, and support they need to reconnect with themselves and live from a place of wholeness.
What sets my work apart is both the compassion I bring and the way I teach women to extend that same compassion to themselves. I’m not here to slap on a quick fix or offer a surface-level solution—I’m a “root girlie,” as I like to say. I believe in getting underneath the patterns and pain to understand what’s really going on. I want healing to be sustainable, not just survivable.
I take a deeply trauma-informed, body-centered approach that honors the whole person—mind, body, and soul. I help women understand how they’re wired, how trauma impacts them, and how they can start to feel safe in their own skin again.
What I’m most proud of? Honestly, it’s that I keep showing up—imperfectly, wholeheartedly, and with integrity. Young Amanda would probably be shocked that we’re out here doing this work, showing up without having it all together. But I’ve learned that healing doesn’t require perfection. It just requires presence. And I’m proud that I get to model that for others, while holding space for them to do the same.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Oh goodness. So many things!
I would say mostly teaching others the gift that survival mode can be AND that we aren’t meant to live there. A lot of women have found “safety” in a lifestyle of urgency, hustle, and hurry. While there should be moments and seasons for this, it cannot become an idol and dictate the pace of life. What keeps so many stuck in perpetual cycles of burnout, anxiety, and people-pleasing tendencies is the belief that shaming ourselves will get us to our goals. When in reality (and what research proves) the secret ingredient is compassion.
