Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The struggles…I opened my first cooking business when I was in high school – cakes! Then we moved.

My father was an executive who was asked to move each time he was promoted. He was an Army officers’ chef in Turks and Caicos when he was a teenager, having lied about his age to join up. His cooking style was daring but he had a gifted palette. My mother was a terrific by-the-book cook who worked as a riviter during World War II. Food and meals together served as the roots for our ever changing home front.

By the time I was 20 I had lived in seven states, but I had learned to be very friendly (and share. my cookies) FAST.

I married to escape. In Cleveland, Ohio I studied to be a physician’s assistant while I worked at a large advertising agency in a myriad of roles. My husband and I had a farm and we had a second child. After serious postpartum depression, we moved to Raleigh. Here, I went to work for an ad agency and had a side hustle—a catering business.

Divorced, I followed my next great job with Black & Decker to Baltimore. I loved my job but it was really difficult being a single mom with their dad in Raleigh.

After seven years as a single, I married again and…we moved….to Melbourne, Australia. I got a chef’s degree. Returning to Baltimore, I went to work as Catholic Relief Services Director of Worldwide Marketing. My then dreamboat, now ex, was asked to move to England. So, we made plans to go. The struggle story goes on….

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think I completed this before…

Why I am different?

I’m an energetic over 70ish grammy who just got back from recording songs I had put away 15 years ago because I didn’t believe I was a singer/songwriter.

I truly love helping people have fun and enjoy their unique selves.

Why not? Well, reality does insist that you analyze this very carefully considering your unique circumstances.

I am extremely generous and believe that the world is abundant with good things.

Any big plans?
That’s in the first section too.

I am excited to help people really learn how to enjoy the wonderful never ending culinary world, rooted in our local farms.
