Daily Inspiration: Meet Carson Clark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carson Clark.

Hi Carson, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
MY START
I began my career at a company with annual revenue of $20B
After swimming through bureaucracy, I transitioned to a smaller firm and learned that I love the pace and personal touch of entrepreneurial organizations.

INTRO TO EOS
Eventually, I was running a 75-person company
Upon joining I learned:
-Our profits were declining
-We had no consistent processes
-There was a fractured relationship between the Leadership Team and Advisory Board

A friend introduced me to EOS and we brought in an implementer..
While implementing EOS, we repaired relationships, addressed chronic issues, and increased our profit by 55%

ME NOW
We sold the business, and ultimately I realized I was all in on EOS and wanted to help business owners and leadership teams go on their own rewarding EOS journey.
I’ve worked with 24 organizations to help them implement EOS and it brings great satisfaction to help them get what they want.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road.

When my son was born he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. This was a big turning point for me because I realized I would need to be more aggressive to be able to provide for potential medical needs he would have. This was a major inflection point for me.

Transitioning from the Fortune 500 world into new industries was challenging, but fun.
Starting a new business with zero clients or revenue and turning that into a thriving EOS practice was also hard.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in helping entrepreneurial companies with 10-250 employees get what they want.

My “three uniques” are
1. Tenacious focus on client results
2. Business acumen
3. Calm and nurturing approach

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a religious guy, so I certainly love the scriptures.
I love reading biographies of great people in history and how they handled challenging situations.
I’ll be honest too, I’ve read a million self-help and business books. They often blur together. I find I enjoy reading things that open up my creativity.
