Daily Inspiration: Meet Chanel Woodson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanel Woodson

Hi Chanel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Pup Pastry in 2023 because my pup, Suki, had really bad skin reactions to some ingredients in her diet. So after a deep dive of different ingredients, I stripped down what I fed her and when her skin completely healed, my husband suggested that I turn it into a business and so I did!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been like a roller coaster, which I think is to be expected, but I’ve had to step back and find the lesson in everything. In the beginning, I had a hard time making the recipes and keeping them long lasting even though I don’t use preservatives.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make dog treats and custom cakes for pups to enjoy. What sets Pup Pastry apart is that we only use ingredients that support a health benefit in your pup and any coloring we use is strictly fruit, veggie, or plant based. I’m definitely proud of Pup Pastry as a whole, but the cakes are amazing to be able to look back on how much I’ve grown.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Me being authentic with the people that follow me on Instagram and also me staying true to only using specific ingredients. It would be so easy to just use whatever, but a lot of research goes into finding and using ingredients that I pick
