Daily Inspiration: Meet Christopher Bennett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Bennett.

Hi Christopher, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In my (almost) 29 years on this earth, I feel like a musical sponge that has never been rung out. It’s almost nauseating how music finds its way into my brain.

It’s my everything. Because it is everything! I can confidently say that (music) has been a comfort and a necessity since I started breathing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As a young black man currently residing in America, no it has not been smooth. But I have been blessed with an incredible support system from the beginning which has kept me humble and grounded.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a record producer and an artist.

Producing was my first love though and it will always come first. Growing up both Missy and Timbo subconsciously fueled and steered me into this profession.

I would say my specialties would be sampling and making something out of nothing! I take pride in saying I make North Carolina rhythms and I’m trying to take that particular sound global!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe risk-taking is quite vital when trying to fulfill your dreams. You can’t make it happen while sitting on the porch!! Baby steps will always be better than no progress at all.

Moving away from family was probably the biggest risk I ever took and I did it for the chance to better our lives!
