Daily Inspiration: Meet Cody Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Morgan

Hi Cody, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a teenager when I got my first vehicle it was a 1987 Chevrolete Silverado V10, it had a lift kit and big wheels/ tires on it and of course always needed something replaced on it. That’s what sparked my love for working on vehicles. I took pride in how my truck looked, I was always wanting to customize something on it whether it was the grill, headlights, interior or the quality of the ride. I started working part time on vehicles under my carport after COVID hit causing me to lose my job. I met up with a friend shortly after who encouraged me to start my own business. With the help and a little push from family and friends, I took the leap. The first couple years was a lot of long lights, working 7 days a week and going through hard times that make you want to give up. The first year consisted of many pep talks with my wife and her pointing out how far we’ve come and how hard I’ve worked I would be doing myself a disservice to give up. Here we are on our 5th year in business, we are thriving and growing more and more each year. This business has given me the chance to support my family and gives me the freedom to take time for my family when needed. I now have a son who I am working hard to hand him down a successful business one day. I work hard to show him that dreams do come true if you’re willing to put in the work and have the determination to succeed.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening a business was not easy at all, the first year was the hardest, as it would be for any small business just opening due to obtaining the necessary legalities. There were times during that first year where I felt like I was drowning and couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, especially since we opened in 2021 in the midst of COVID. Between the challenges of getting parts and increasing our customer, Covid was not on our side. But we made it, here we are on year 5 with many different vendors and constantly having new customers reach out to us each week, as well as having returning customers from our first year in business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Opening a business and committing to it full time is a risk most people are not willing to take due to the unknown of how the future will go. There is no guaranteed the business will survive or there is no guaranteed income amount each week. The first year you’re running off a dream and a hope and a prayer. I’m very grateful to my customers, friends and family, and my wife who have supported me through this journey and believed in me.
