Today we’d like to introduce you to Cora Greene.
Hi Cora, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my stained-glass journey about 20 years ago, as a hobby to cut out some time for myself. After retiring from a 39 year career in healthcare, I decided to establish a venue where others could take classes, purchase supplies and purchase finished glass art from local glass artists. I wanted to create something different in my community where others could experience stained glass.
In October of 2023 Glass Ingenuity opened during Historic Salisbury’s October Tour. In the beginning it was me and a couple of other stained glass artists and friends that handled operations. I taught all of our workshops and classes with help from friends to run the store while I was teaching. Today, I have 3 employees and there are 7 of us that teach classes and workshops.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a smooth road. No unexpected surprises and we have built upon our opening foundation to continue to grow.

Glass Ingenuity was born out of the desire to share our passion for stained glass and other forms of glass art. We sell stained glass sheets and supplies, teach classes and sell the works of local glass artists. Our studio space offers classes in stained glass, glass mosaics, fusing, slumping and kiln casting. We are a veteran and woman owned business.
One can take a two hour workshop and leave with their own piece of art or take a series of classes to learn the foiled/tiffany style of stained glass.
What are your plans for the future?
We are constantly planning new classes and plan to expand our class offerings in 2026. In addition we plan continue to grow our retail glass art and supplies. Ultimately we hope to expand our space to meet the overwhelming demand for classes we have received and continue to grow our inventory of stained glass sheets.
