Daily Inspiration: Meet Dave Neal Jr.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dave Neal Jr.

Hi Dave, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Hi, I’m Dave Neal Jr., a REALTOR® | Broker here in Raleigh, born and raised in Durham, NC. My career started in finance after graduating from Johnson C. Smith University, in Charlotte, NC. I always had a goal and passion for helping people and I knew that no matter what I chose to do in my life, I want to be surrounded by doing that. I have accomplished a lot of my goals in my career, such as having a Finance and Banking background with one of the top banks in the nation, Wells Fargo and obtaining a Global Finance position with ORACLE and CISCO Systems. In those roles, I always knew that I had a greater purpose in life and I never felt fulfilled or motivated to chase someone else’s dreams.

I have always wanted to invest more in myself and my passion for being an entrepreneur. I knew that once my dreams, goals, and future became first that I could go on to do greater things and serve people the best way that I can.

Today, I wake each day with a fulfilled heart and recognize my passion now more than ever. Being a full-time realtor has not only allowed my dreams to come true but is has also given me the opportunity to change others’ lives as well and that’s what drives me every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could tell you the road to getting here was very smooth and the perception that people see of most Real Estate agents is glamourous. But for me, when I first started this journey two years ago I signed up for my Real Estate course and was super excited! The very first week of class, I knew I was going to knock it out of the park, until the next week when the instructor walked in and said to the class “this week we will now focus solely on the math portion.”

At that very moment, I allowed those exact words to discourage me and all of my excitement walked immediately out of the classroom. Needless to say, I did not pass the course due to doubt, discouragement, and lack of confidence. I gave up on that dream and put Real Estate on the back burner. Fast forward two years later, during COVID I received a call from my cousin/mentor saying “you need to pick Real Estate back up, this is your time.” I told him, “I don’t know – what if I fail again?” And I remember like it was yesterday him saying “SO WHAT, YOU KEEP GOING!” I immediately stopped what I was doing, grabbed my credit card, and enrolled in the Real Estate course!

Every day I thank God for that call because it was the best decision I could have ever made for me and my family. Not only did I pass the course, but I walked in with a different mindset, bigger faith, bigger goals, and the determination to succeed! When I look back now, I laugh at how my background is in finance and I allowed the math portion to discourage me the first time (lol).

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Top Producing agent with Keller Williams Preferred in Raleigh, I am committed to serving each and every client with top-notch service, offering guidance through the process and making sure they walk away learning more about Real Estate from when they first meet with me. I enjoy working with first-time buyers and sellers, building long-lasting relationships that turn from client to family.

I offer my clients a full experience when working with me and I pride myself on making sure the process is as smooth as possible, less cumbersome, fun, and memorable. Knowing that I am a huge piece of my client’s lives and their families is the most fulfilling feeling I could ever imagine having, and every time I get to pass on those house keys I see my future getting brighter and brighter because I know there are so many others out there waiting for me to help them do the same.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Raleigh is an awesome place to be, especially right now with all the growth and opportunities coming this way! Not only are we ranked as one of the best places to live in the US (#2), but we are also filled with amazing small businesses, restaurants, and tons of activities. Additionally, I feel this area is one big melting pot of people from various places, which makes the culture here such a cool place to live.

As a native of Durham, NC which is not too far from Raleigh, you also get the best of both worlds with both cities being so close and getting to experience so much more. My least favorite thing about Raleigh is we only have one professional sports team, which is the Carolina Hurricanes. I am a huge sports fan and would love to attend some basketball or football games here; however, as a die-hard UNC fan, I can manage.
