Daily Inspiration: Meet Elissa Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elissa Anderson.

Elissa Anderson

Hi Elissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born and raised in rural Georgia, I was always deeply connected to nature. I spent many hours playing in the creek, connecting to the Earth, and communing with the birds and other forest beings. These early experiences instilled a deep love, passion, and appreciation for Mama Earth and all she brings. This connection has stayed with me and is largely responsible for where I am today. I followed this calling initially by going through the steps of the system: grade school, college, graduate school, government jobs… and all the while being called to deeper and more meaningful work.

I began to experience an even deeper and more profound spiritual awakening, and my soul pull towards something greater grew stronger than my logical side of ‘following the program.’ I had achieved all of the things I was led to believe would fulfill me, and yet I knew there was more to life and that I was meant to do and be more. I continued to do the healing work and step more into my power and my purpose. In the fall of 2020, with my internal motivation and the support of my marvelous husband, I quit the 9-5 and dove fully into following my dreams. Answering this call has led me to where I am today, which is exactly where I’m supposed to be. I currently call the southern Appalachian foothills of North Carolina home, and I’m doing the work every day to fulfill the dream and build a life full of love, joy, sustainability, freedom, sovereignty, and peace.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Stepping fully into the truth of who I am and what I’m here to offer to the world has been a beautifully winding road with many curves, highs, and lows. Our culture has been conditioned to view those who go against the grain as ‘odd,’ ‘different,’ and/or many other labels, so when you awaken and go against the programming and conditioning there will be challenges—and I’m here for it all. As I’ve shed the layers of self that were no longer serving or in alignment, many relationships and things have fallen away as well. It’s been said that anything you lose by being real was fake, and the Universe has never taken anything or anyone away from me without sending me something or someone greater. The obstacles and challenges that I have overcome have made me stronger and more dedicated to my purpose, and I’m grateful for all of the teachings and lessons that I’ve received.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My gift of service to the world is helping people with their healing journey. I’ve been blessed with so many teachings, lessons, gifts, and experiences, and it’s my honor to be able to share these with awakening souls. I specialize in guiding sacred Shamanic Ceremonies that allow people to truly drop into themselves and heal deeply rooted traumas. The people I work with have been able to heal childhood traumas, break addictions, find relief from treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, recover from PTSD, find peace from terminal illness end-of-life depression, and much more. I’m deeply passionate about helping people truly live in love and joy, not just merely exist as so many do. I also offer sound healings, wellness coaching and mentorship, guided meditations, reiki, and various other holistic offerings.

The gifts and services that I offer are different than the traditional Western way of dealing with the ebbs and flows of life. Most modern modalities of ‘healing’, whether talk therapy or pharmaceuticals mask the symptoms while allowing people to exist-often in a numb, non-fulfilled state. The work that I offer allows people to peel back the layers, find a different perspective of compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance, and to truly heal. As a Priestess of the Goddess, I also bring in elemental wisdom and magic to help beings reconnect to their hearts, Pachamama, and the Earth, Air, Fire, and Water within. I know the power of natural healing and remembering our interconnection with nature and all beings. Helping beautiful souls along their healing journey is truly an honor, and I’m grateful to be of service in this way. It’s powerfully humbling and uplifting to be a catalyst for personal growth and to help people become their greatest version, and I know that I am Divinely guided and supported every step of the way.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
This life that we are given is truly a gift. Yes, it has its highs and lows, and some days are going to be harder than others, and it’s all so beautiful and what we make it. It’s my belief that we often make it harder on ourselves by living and being out of alignment with the truth of who we are. I see it so often that people are not living to their fullest because they’re stuck: clinging to the past, worried about the future, living a lie. The more we can “Be Here Now” and live in the moment instead of in our memories or our imagination, the more we will find peace. I also fully encourage everyone to be true to themselves, as well as to know thyself. Boundaries are our friend, and you can disappoint a thousand people as long as you’re not disappointing yourself. When we realize that we are the creators of own reality and we have the power to change and choose differently, magical things can happen. If you’re feeling the call for more, I encourage you and support you in answering that call. I’ll share one of my favorite quotes by Terence McKenna: “Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream, and the world will not grind you under; it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.” And what a beautiful dance it is.
