Daily Inspiration: Meet Eric Tate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Tate.

Hi Eric, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story begins the same as any other, my passion came when I was very young. Starting out as an only child, I had to make company with my wild imagination. My passions grew as I grew older, my eyes opened up to all the amazing things in the world and as I learned more my curiosity grew more. My love for gaming, art, anime, etc. Exploded when I reached junior high. Unfortunately, for me, my time was scattered about and I could not get a grasp on what it was I needed to direct said my passion too.

It was until Covid hit and became an issue that my goals were laid out in front of me. Since we needed to quarantine during the start of covid I took it upon myself to take that time and take a chance, a chance to start working towards my goals. It was until then that I began my content creator journey, I took that time to build my first pc to start streaming and to start down to path to hopefully my career. Thanks to the support of family and friends assuring me that my nerves are something everyone goes through and that I should go for my dreams and do what I love.

With that support, I’ve successfully started streaming already reaching over 1 thousand followers also starting my TikTok cosplay journey which has grown at an amazing rate at almost 10 thousand. Currently, I am still a small timer but so far I’ve acquired a very supportive group of individuals that help me in all my endeavors, and with that, I hope to build a community where we can all come together and grow with each other.

It has always been my dream to entertain to bring joy to the faces of this world. I dare say I am on the right path to doing just that, it’s been an amazing journey so far and I cannot wait to see where it brings me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
All things in life come with struggles unfortunately, half the time whatever it is your face is something of your own doing. “You are your worst enemy,” they say.

The troubles I faced could not be avoided some included damaged equipment, copyright issues, even falling out with friends. These things happen and it’s very important that you know beforehand that this is the case and that it’s okay.

What matters when these things do come to pass is how you decide to handle them, some quit some lash out but others take the opportunity to learn from the setback and they grow from it. I like to think that I have learned quite a bit from the many mistakes I’ve made over the months.

It is unfortunate but I do not regret these things for they made me into a better person.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
By day, I do work retail at Ultimate Comics a small comic book shop but by night I go by the theonecalledTATE small-time streamer anime lover meme enthusiast, and cosplayer. I hope one day to become a partnered streamer while also doing professional cosplays. Bringing joy to all.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
It may seem silly working at a comic book shop but my knowledge of anime exceeds my knowledge of comics by far. I grew up on all the classic shows as a kid of course but it was anime that captured and kept my attention for over 20 years now I would not be the person I am today if it wasn’t for anime.
