Daily Inspiration: Meet Hannah Cutts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Cutts.

Hannah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our story begins with a spark of childhood wonder, a moment when I met my hero, Barbie, at the local Target in High Point. That flutter of excitement, the tangible magic of meeting someone who seemed larger than life, stayed with me. It ignited a passion to create that same sense of wonder for others.

Over a decade ago, driven by a love for storytelling and children’s entertainment, I began entertaining families across the Piedmont Triad. Each performance, each interaction, deepened my desire to bring the enchantment of fairytales into our community. This vision culminated in the opening of the Fairytale Palace in September 2018, a place where imaginations soar and dreams take flight.

Since then, we’ve expanded three times to accommodate the growing number of families seeking a magical experience. Our vibrant, pink walls have witnessed countless birthday parties, storytimes, and events filled with laughter and joy. Families from near and far return to us, week after week, to experience the magic we’ve created together.

At the heart of it all is our mother-daughter team: Sue, our Head Party Fairy Godmother, and me, Hannah, the Master Magic Maker. Together, with a dedicated cast of over 55 talented performers, we strive to make every celebration enchanting.

For us, it’s not just about hosting events; it’s about preserving the magic of childhood, inspiring both children and adults to believe in the magic of imagination, and creating memories that last a lifetime. After all, isn’t that what childhood and Life is all about?

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not always—fairytales aren’t always an easy sell! Sometimes, grown-ups need a gentle reminder of how vital imagination and suspended belief can be. That lesson became even clearer during the COVID-19 shutdowns. As one of the only character companies in the state (if not the only one) with a brick-and-mortar location, we suddenly faced the challenge of keeping our magic alive without in-person events.

Those months tested our creativity, resilience, and commitment to our mission. We brainstormed every possible way to continue spreading joy safely: virtual magic mirrors, interactive online storytimes, outdoor “mask-queries”—anything we could do to keep the castle lights on. There were many tears, but, as the Princess and the Frog story reminds us, we had to “dig a little deeper.”

Through it all, we learned that this company is not just a business- it’s our mission. Family is everything, and even when the road gets tough, we must “never stop dreaming,” because magic still shines brightest in the hardest moments.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I thrive on breathing new life into classic stories, creating experiences that feel both timeless and exciting. With Reserving Royalty, we specialize in creating fully immersive, unforgettable experiences with beloved fairytales, superheroes, and original characters. What sets us apart is choice, because kids don’t limit their imaginations, and neither do we.

From birthday parties to seasonal celebrations, we offer unique ways to play, connect, and experience magic. Kids can dance the day away with their favorite royalty in tutus and toe shoes, celebrate a spring garden tea party with princesses and bunnies, twirl with Pumpkinrella at a fall festival, craft lantern dreams with Rapunzel and her prince, make holiday wishes with Holly the Christmas Fairy, or dive into a mermaid dance party with Celeste, our one-of-a-kind Mermicorn (mermaid-unicorn).

But our magic doesn’t stop at birthdays or holidays. We host monthly themed events designed to make ordinary days extraordinary, ensuring families have countless opportunities to experience joy, wonder, and connection.

We’re most proud of our ability to create those “aha” moments, the spark in a child’s eyes, the laughter that fills a room, the memories that families carry for a lifetime. At the heart of it all is our mission: to make every interaction feel authentic, enchanting, and unforgettable.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If I could share one piece of advice with anyone starting their own journey, it would be this: never underestimate the power of imagination and persistence. When we first started, I wish I had fully realized that challenges aren’t roadblocks, they’re opportunities to grow and innovate. There is always a solution and a brighter side; you might just need to turn the problem on its head!!

It’s also important to stay true to your vision, even when it feels risky or unconventional. Magic doesn’t always fit neatly into a box, and neither should your ideas. Surround yourself with people who believe in your dream, celebrate small victories, and don’t be afraid to fail… because you will a lot! It’s often in those moments that the most creative solutions are born.

Above all, never forget why you began this journey, and treasure the magic in every small success.
