Daily Inspiration: Meet Karley Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karley Mitchell.

Hi Karley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my love for photography as a young girl. Taking photos of the little details of every day animals, landscapes, family gatherings etc. As I got older, I had family and friends that loved my work and asked me to create lasting memories for them as well. It turned into a passion of mine where I can capture moments in time for people and that is something I truly enjoy.

Each time I am asked to take photographs for my client, I look at it as an opportunity to really bring out their story. Each session tells a beautiful story and I count myself lucky to have been a part of that journey.

Photography has given me an outlet to truly express my passions as well as be able to bring out the best in the people I get the opportunity to meet.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I tend to struggle with wanting to make sure what I capture is true to my client and that they will love it and cherish it for a lifetime. With that being said, it warms my heart when my clients enjoy my photography and continue to come back with each new milestone. It gives me the opportunity to really get to know them on a personal level.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a creative photographer who specializes in lifestyle photography. This can range from newborn, family, senior, engagement, landscapes, and branding. My goal is to create a gallery of photos my clients can cherish for a lifetime.

I believe what makes my business unique is how hard I strive to individualize my sessions. Each one of my sessions are not “cookie cutter” experiences. I want to add personalization and character to my individual shoots to help to portray the uniqueness of my client.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I enjoy listening to inspirational posts about hard work and dedication. These podcasts tend to encourage me on days that I feel a little overwhelmed.

Following fellow photographers and professionals in my field has also helped me to stay up to date with all the new trends and education to further my knowledge in my field.
