Daily Inspiration: Meet Mariah Gravley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Gravley.

Hi Mariah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
For me it all began with Bride Wars. Yes , the romantic comedy with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. Best friend’s that had planned every aspect of their future weddings. If you’ve seen the movie I don’t need to go into much detail , but basically I knew I wanted to work in the wedding industry in some form or fashion after obsessively watching this movie and dreaming about potentially becoming a prestigious wedding planner. However I would soon realize my true calling was working with brides as a bridal stylist.
I’ve worked at various bridal boutiques but as of late I’ve been styling brides happily at Bride of the Pines. Which basically feels like my bridal home, my goals and dreams of what my life could look like as a stylist have been achieved here. I’ve truly mastered the art of being a stylist while styling my brides at Bride of the Pines.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I honestly feel like my passion for styling comes so naturally I don’t face as many challenges when it comes to working with my brides every day. The struggle was with myself. I knew in order to be able to give my brides the best of me , I needed to become the most confident best version of myself. That in itself is something I actively strive for every single day. I show up for myself so I can show up for my brides. That doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to have a bad day , maybe I’m experiencing a day when my confidence doesn’t feel as high, but I allow myself to process it and leave it behind before I work with any bride. I refuse to give any bride less than the most perfect version of me. I strive for perfection so even on my worst day I’m still giving it my absolute all and then some. It’s a beautiful way to show up for others. I’ve always had high expectations and standards but I’ve really grown and I’m becoming the woman I want to be every day. I’ve also realized daily habits and routine before my bridal appointments ,things that have become ritual allow me to focus on giving all my energy to my brides as well. I also feel like choosing hobbies that are inspiring allow me to stay inspired so I can fulfill my role as a stylist. All these things collectively allow me to conquer the struggle of ever thinking I’m not enough because I am.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a bridal fashion stylist I specialize in styling my brides for the one of the most important day of their lives. A day they will always remember. Sometimes I feel like I know what gown a bride will choose before they do. I’m know for expressing my own personal style so well , fashion is my passion. I tend to overdress for the every day, but I feel like that’s what I’m truly know for. I’ll always overdress because that’s my way of embracing my femininity and feeling confident no matter what life has to offer that day. I’m most proud of my ability to take my love for fashion and my love for connecting with my brides to create a curated bridal shopping experience that is unique to me. I give brides an experience they deserve and even if they don’t think they deserve it I’m here to remind them they are so special , their bridal vision is special
I’m also extremely proud of my patience , you can’t be a bridal stylist without being patient and understanding and willing to guide them through this beautiful process.
I’m basically every brides best friend giving them everything they need to have a yes moment worth celebrating.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’d love for the readers to know that I’m hoping to take my love for being a bridal stylist , styling brides passionately and sharing my every day fashion with others to reach other goals I’ve always dreamed of achieving . I want to share my experience in hopes of one day becoming a bridal influencer who brings a new perspective to brides and also women who may think they have to stay in a box when it comes to their profession. I chose to chase my dream of styling brides over a typical 9-5 job not saying there is anything wrong with that type of job, but I want anyone to know chasing your dream job is possible and that doing so will only bring more opportunities and so much more happiness over time. I think that my bridal journey has just begin and there is so much more to share and so much more to come.
