Daily Inspiration: Meet Melanie Bryan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Bryan.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been into portrait photography for as long as I can remember and I’ve also always been very passionate about live music. After seeing my favorite band in concert, I decided to try out concert photography. I instantly fell in love and have never looked back. I started by sharing what portfolio I did have with that band, and they ended up supplying me with my first photo pass. Since then, I’ve built up a strong music portfolio through a mix of local bands and national acts.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every show that I have shot has provided me with invaluable experience. I often make tiny mistakes but I do my best to learn from them and continue to improve with each set that I shoot.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a concert photographer. I also do promo sessions for bands to use on their social media accounts, as well as album photos. Because of my lengthy background in portraiture, I have a good grasp of capturing emotion and storytelling in my images.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson that I have learned is to value my own worth. If I don’t value my work, no one else will, either.
