Daily Inspiration: Meet Nina Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Morgan

Hi Nina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
AFTER MY FIRST SON WAS BORN, I FOUND MYSELF THINKING ABOUT HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY MUCH SOONER THAN OTHER MOMS WERE THINKING ABOUT THEIR KID’S PARTIES. YEAR ONE WAS JUST THE BEGINNING BECAUSE I WENT OVER THE TOP. INVITATIONS, CUPCAKE TOPPERS, CUSTOM STADIUM CUPS AND TO TOP IT OFF ALL OFF A DIY BALLOON GARLAND TO COMPLETE THE DECOR. MY LITTLE GUY WAS A FAN AND THE SMILE ON HIS FACE WAS THE PROOF! I WAS HOOKED AND ALREADY COULDN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT PLANNING HIS NEXT PARTY AND IT’S BEEN THE SAME FOR HIS LITTLE BROTHER. IF I COULD BRING THIS MUCH JOY TO MY KIDS WITH MY TALENTS WHILE I WAS ENJOYING IT MYSELF, I WANTED TO SPREAD THAT HAPPINESS AROUND AND MAKE INSTA- WORTHY PARTIES AND EVENTS POSSIBLE FOR EVERYONE. AND SO, GENLO WAS BORN.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The connections and community has made it a smooth road. I think in the beginning it was difficult to find who my ideal client was and find what I wanted to offer- rentals, inflatables, etc. so it took some trial and error, but once I got niche specific to just balloons and knew who I wanted my client to be its been successful growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Balloon Designer- Having a party? Big or Small? We have an offering for you! From grab and go options that are fully inflated and self installed (I provide all the tools you need to hang) to full installations we have you covered. I specialize in balloon decor, so for corporate events, wedding showers, birthdays, baby showers, grand openings, and more! I am really proud of my ability to understand color hues and pigmentations. There are ALOT of balloon designers in our area and being able to understand what colors go together well and their pigments really will make the artwork look better. It is truly a skill that takes practice. Having a background and love for interior design it comes natural for me.

Some things that set me apart from other designers is my client journey. All my clients get mockups for design approval. They know what colors they are getting and specilaity balloons, if they have selected any for their event, before I show up. There are no surprises. This mockup is a representation of their installation and can be tweaked as many times as needed until they are 100% satisfied.

How do you think about luck?
Luck? NONE! I think being able to put myself out there whole heartily and not be scared has what has made me so successful. If there is a job I wanted, I went and asked for it. I was no afraid and I know that was what set me apart. Plus follow up. Having a client journey for your client to know what they are getting.
