Daily Inspiration: Meet Parys Braxton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Parys Braxton.

Hi Parys , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up on a fifth-generation farm where the meaning of hard work wasn’t just talked about — it was lived out every day. From a young age, I was surrounded by early mornings, long days, and the kind of commitment that comes from caring for horses. Having horses especially taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and perseverance. It didn’t take long for me to realize that whatever career path I chose, it had to involve those same values: hard work, dedication, and heart.

As I grew older, I often heard people say, “You can’t be successful without a college degree.” Rather than letting that discourage me, it only fueled a deeper determination to prove that success doesn’t follow a single path — it’s built through drive, resilience, and passion.

I always had a creative side, with a love for marketing, interior design, and — most of all — people. I realized that real estate was the perfect place to bring all of those passions together. Helping others find their home felt natural, and I knew I had found my calling.

Joining the April Stephens Team at eXp Realty has been a life-changing opportunity. The mentorship, training, and support I’ve received have taught me so much about the business and set me up for incredible growth and success. I couldn’t be more thankful for where I am today and the journey that brought me here.

This is just the beginning, and I’m so excited for all that’s ahead.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely been far from a smooth road. Being so young in the real estate industry has come with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest struggles has been overcoming the assumptions people sometimes make based on my age or experience level. I’ve had to work hard to prove that I’m just as capable, knowledgeable, and dedicated as agents who have been in the field for many years.

Early on, there were moments of doubt — both from others and sometimes even within myself — but those challenges only pushed me to work harder, learn more, and show through my actions that I belong here. I put a strong focus on education, professionalism, and building trust with every client I meet.

The obstacles have honestly made me stronger and more confident. They’ve shaped me into a better agent and a better person overall. Every step, even the hard ones, has been part of building the foundation for a long, successful career.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a real estate professional that is trying to grow a specialty in land deals and horse properties. I’m especially known as “the realtor with the horses” — bringing not just industry expertise, but also a genuine passion for the lifestyle that comes with land ownership and equestrian properties. My big personality helps me connect naturally with clients, making the process not just smooth but genuinely enjoyable.

One of my proudest achievements actually comes from my horse show career, where I won state, national, and international high point awards with my horse, Oro. That experience taught me about dedication, strategy, and the importance of seeing both the big picture and the small details — all skills that translate directly into how I serve my real estate clients today.

What really sets me apart is the perspective I bring from the horse and land world itself. I understand exactly what horse owners, land buyers, and even first-time homebuyers are looking for because Im in that stage myself. I’m not just selling properties — I’m helping people find places where they can live their dreams, whether that’s raising a family, building a ranch, or starting a new adventure.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality that’s been most important to my success is authenticity. I truly believe people can tell when you’re passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping them — and that connection builds trust faster than anything else. Whether I’m working with first-time homebuyers, seasoned landowners, or fellow horse enthusiasts, being real, approachable, and deeply committed to their goals has made all the difference. I don’t just see it as selling real estate; I see it as helping people find the lifestyle and future they’re dreaming about.
