Daily Inspiration: Meet Rong Chen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rong Chen.

Hi Rong, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up my parents used to own restaurants so I’ve always been in the food industry. After college and while working in corporate I had the opportunity to travel around the world because of my job. I loved boba so everywhere I traveled I tried the bobas from different countries and found out what type of flavors I liked and started making my own at home. From there I decided to put my passion into my own business and that is where SipCha came from.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like any business it’s never perfected, we hit the COVID time which is probably the most difficult time. Especially with small business and the situation we are in 2025 we are getting hit right hard with tariffs.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Started out working for my parents at their restaurant since a child. After college, I was in international sales.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
