Daily Inspiration: Meet Sierra Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Johnson.

Hi Sierra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers? 
For as long as I can remember, I have loved taking photos. Growing up around my father and uncle, who were always passionate about their photography, was definitely the start of it all. Becoming a mom at 20 temporarily sent me down a different path. As my kids have now grown a bit, I decided to reignite my passion and follow my dream to start my own photography business. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I honestly never considered photography as a full-time job option. Being a single parent of two young children doesn’t allow you to take risks in entrepreneurship. Deciding to take this seriously meant I needed to put work in after hours. Full time day job, kids in bed for the night then time to focus on photography. It hasn’t been easy, but beyond worth it. Seeing how happy people are to see themselves the way I do is unmatchable! 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Within my photography I’m most proud of my portraits, boudoir and branding! I think my passion for the creativity behind it all sets me apart from the rest. Taking people’s personal visions and bringing them to life. I pride myself on taking the time to listen to my clients vision. My favorite project to date was creating an album cover based on a brand new single from upcoming artist Alisha Reid. Branding sessions come with burning passion and clients wanting to show off what they’re most proud of. Photography is so much more than just standing behind the lens.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The credit behind the scenes goes to my family! All the hands on deck for those who have helped with my two children. It’s the only way I could have time to chase my passion. They have been my biggest cheerleaders, models, advocates, and so much more!
