Daily Inspiration: Meet Veronica Berrett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Berrett.

Hi Veronica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve always loved fashion! I’ve always dreamed of being a model. Coming up as a young girl I was always on the thick side. These legs & thighs have always been here lol but u look at models being slim & petite, basically a size 2. I can’t recall ever being a size 2 even when I was small. Fast forward to being an adult I was blessed with a beautiful son & my weight continued to increase. I went thru the self conscious phase & thru the years I had to learn to love & embrace my body, curves & all.

After battling Covid 19 in May of 2020, I didn’t know whether I would make it threw. I was hospitalized the night before mothers days & stayed there for 10 days. Thank God I beat Covid-19. Once home I felt like I had a purpose but couldn’t figure out quite what it was.

As I continued to heal at home I came upon a model entry being held in Atlanta. I submitted my info & was one of 11 girls picked. September 2020 came, I went to Atlanta to do the shoot & landed a spot in a plus-size calendar(Miss September) once the calendar came out I was offered brand Ambassador positions for “Curvvy Bee”, S.T.A.T.U.S., and Chemistry Set.

Opportunity after opportunity poured in but I still felt like something was missing. February 2021 my dear friend Teondra, who owns Chemistry Set, helped me get my plus size boutique “Queen Fluf Boutique started. The idea was to be different so we took one of the F’s away from Fluff.

Currently, I have been operating for a year & a half. I’ve met some beautiful ladies & the support has been amazing. I strive to bring quality items for my plus queens so that they can feel beautiful yet comfortable.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a Smooth ride, but it has definitely been worth it. If you start a business just solely for the money aspect your gonna fail completely.

Some days your business will be profitable, and then you may have some days where you don’t make a dime. No matter what though I have to keep pushing.

I’m very passionate about clothes & as a plus queen I love to look sexy, sooooo that’s my goal. To continue to inspire & provide Queen Fluf wear for my plus queens.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
From brand Ambassador to the business owner. I’m a plus-size Model.

I’ve been featured in a plus size calendar (Miss September) I’ve walked in 3 Runway shows. I just landed my 3rd website feature. The latest is for fearless curves magazine. I’m a mom to a handsome 9-year-old named Zha’Mir who is my world.

I’m on a break from school but I will definitely start back soon so I can obtain my accounting & business degree.

I’m the owner of Queen Fluf Boutique. I offer plus size clothing that’s sexy & comfy for woman. I’ve incorporated smaller sizes as well so please check out my business pages on Facebook & Instagram.

What matters most to you?
First hand it’s my son, he is my motivation. I strive to be a better person because of him.

My mom who I can honestly say supports me 100 percent. My family & friends who have endured everything with me & of course my amazing customers. The support is overwhelming. I’m so thankful.

I can’t help but thank God for keeping me & allowing me to live out my dream & inspire other woman.
