Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria D’Alesio.
Hi Victoria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My dad, my Uncle Ron and I started as a mobile cigar company in 2021 going to events around the state selling premium cigars and accessories. In 2023 we decided that we wanted to open up a brick and mortar cigar bar and lounge. It took us about a year to find the location that felt best to us and that was Dunn, NC. We opened our doors in October 2024. I am the President and majority owner of The Black River Tobacco Company. In 2025 we opened our 501(c)(3) Cigars For Hope to raise money to help support the children, first responders and military personnel in the Dunn area.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We had our challenges along the way working with the Dunn planning and permitting office and and the Harnett County inspection office while working toward our final inspection. The fire marshal’s office was very easy to work with. They made it very easy during the inspection process providing us with all the information we needed to ensure we passed our final inspection, We made it! Obtaining our liquor, beer and wine and Other Tobacco Products licenses went much smoother than expected and we found the people working in those state departments were very helpful and accomodating while we tried to figure it out.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We proudly provide premium cigars from both the legacy brands and boutique or craft brands. We also have a very large selection of bourbons to include allocated and hard to find bourbons. Our customers enjoy our relaxed atmosphere and especially our luxurious leather chairs. We play blues music in the background and always have sports on the TV’s. We have a very nice outdoor covered patio with custom whiskey stave rockers to include a TV and heaters for when the weather turns brisk. Many of our customers love the rustic feel of our lounge and the welcoming environment by bth the staff and other customers alike. We have a very eclectic and diverse customer base. We do require a membership per NC State law and offer discounts on cigar purchases for first responders and military personnel active, former or retired.
Our customers are what drive us. Providing a comfortable relaxing environment for them to enjoy the company of other., or to just sit quietly while working or taking some time to relax is what it is all about.

Our customers are what matter most to us and their having a great experience while visiting with us. We work hard to ensure their expectations are met through our customer service, and really listening to our customers and what they want and would like to see and have while visiting the lounge.
