Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Boone.
Hi Brian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started using drones in 2016 right before the FAA created the federal certificate Part 107 that commercial drone pilot must now have to legally operate. My first paid flights were aerial photography gigs for real estate firms across NC. During that time, I scoured the internet for years looking for drone jobs. I created a website and tailored my resume as a drone photographer – then I got an opportunity in Telecom which really opened the door for me. After that, the UAS industry exploded and I just rode the wave. I fly UAS in many verticals now, but my favorite is natural disaster response, as it is the most fulfilling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m lucky to be in a burgeoning industry, however there is a lot of driving involved. Over 1,000,000 miles in 10 years easily. That has been very hard on my back.
We’ve been impressed with Boone Unmanned Aircraft Systems Services LLC or Boone UAS, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My dad, Mike Boone, is a manned aircraft pilot and one of the longest tenured, most-flown pilots in the world. He’s supported me since day 1. He helped me purchase my first drone!
