Carice Coleman, a proud native of Richmond, Virginia, has emerged as a shining star in the world of pageantry and entrepreneurship. Born and raised in the heart of the South, Carice’s journey has been marked by passion, resilience, and a commitment to making a positive impact. 

Carice earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from North Carolina Central in 2017. Undeterred by challenges, she continued her academic pursuits and secured a master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University in Strategic Public Relations in 2019. 

Founding her own Events Management company named Pinnacle Affairs. Under her leadership, Pinnacle Affairs has become a powerhouse in the industry, specializing in planning and coordinating weddings and corporate and social events, offering virtual assistant services for event professionals, and even providing a Wedding Officiant service. 

Outside the realm of her professional pursuits, Carice embraces a diverse set of interests. She finds joy in exploring different cultures through travel and indulges her palate by trying out various cuisines at different restaurants. Furthermore, her commitment to community service is evident through her active involvement in volunteering. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Carice embraced the challenges of being a first-generation college student. Her journey through academia, from North Carolina Central to a master’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, was not only an intellectual conquest but a groundbreaking feat for her family. 

In the entrepreneurial landscape, being a first-generation business owner and a black woman is a testament to Carice’s resilience. Pinnacle Affairs, her Events Management company, defies stereotypes, proving that excellence knows no boundaries.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Exposing myself to different cultures broadens perspectives, fosters empathy, and adds richness to life experiences. I’ve learned how to work in an extremely fast-paced environment and how to steer the ship, all while serving the needs of clients, customers, and the community. 

Most importantly, steering clear of comparison and eschewing the paralyzing habit of overthinking. Instead of allowing self-doubt to hold me back, I continuously put myself out there and navigate the unknown with unyielding determination.
