Exploring Life & Business with Danielle Schulz of The Triangle Sessions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Schulz

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been a dancer since I was 3 years old. Movement, music, and performance have been my life. I’ve been fortunate to do the thing I wanted to do “when I grow up.” The flip side is that a dance career has a short life. I’m 36 years old and realize that I’m not going to get any better at this craft. I’ve known this for a while and have been building my next career on the backend.

I’ve found great joy building The Triangle Sessions since 2018. The Triangle Sessions is a corporate wellness company specializing in team building and virtual experiences. I’ve loved helping teams learn how to feel better about themselves AND one another. Enjoying one’s work on a daily basis greatly increases life satisfaction. I witnessed this first-hand in my dance career and love applying this mindset to the corporate world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building something solo has been the biggest struggle. I’m a social person, I crave connection. It’s one of the main reasons that I’ve kept my foot in the door at the Metropolitan Opera the last few years. I love the community. But the Met chapter is coming to a close. Luckily, I’ve built wonderful relationships over the years with our clients. I look forward to continuing the momentum and placing connection at the forefront of everything we do to fill that void.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Triangle Sessions is a corporate wellness company, but our team building events really set us apart. They’re fun, educational, and always encourage personal-growth. We want people to walk away feeling better about themselves and, in turn, feel better about where they work. For example, our best-selling terrarium workshop playfully connects plant-care with self-care. Because of the terrarium success, we launched a Bonsai class that infuses lessons from Zen Buddhism with personal development. The events are always high-quality. The products themselves post-event are visual reminders that their employer cares about individual well-being.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Whom you choose to spend time with directly impacts the quality of your life. Pick your friends, mentors, and business-partners wisely. Nurture those connections. Go in slowly, test the waters. With ample time and patience, you’ll be able to create relationships that help inspire and propel you forward.

For example, whom I picked to be my life-partner has had a tremendous influence on my potential. My husband’s a godsend. He grounds me, provides emotional support, and calls me out on bulls4*+ when needed. I have the confidence to grow personally and professionally because of him.

Our respectful, supportive interactions have taught me this: aim to bring out the best in people. Listen, learn, and have an open mind (and heart). It will transform your relationships.
