Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellie Doyle.
Hi Ellie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was working for a screen printing company as their marketing director in St. Augustine, Florida when I realized I was actually far more interested in the graphic design and creative part of the job rather than the marketing side. My family had been trying to move to North Carolina for a while, and after my husband found a good job here I decided it was the perfect opportunity to see if other people would love the designs that were swimming in my head as much as I did! It started out as mommy & me tees (hence the name of the company). I loved matching with my one-year-old… and then evolved into a lot more. At first, I would get excited to get a few orders a week, truly shocked that people wanted to buy my product! Now we get dozens and dozens of orders a week, both from the Etsy shop and custom requests (which are so much fun to do.) I love making these shirts, not only because of how fun it is to do but because it allows me to stay home with my baby girl.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been a lot of trial and error. In a span of a month, we bought a house, moved to another state, and launched a company… oh yeah, all during a global pandemic. I learned a lot about different vinyls, shirt qualities and styles, different types of fabrics, etc. those first few months. I was constantly on the phone with different distributors for blank t-shirts to create our designs on. The main issue we faced was the unreliability of shipping times during Covid because so many companies were short-staffed. We had many packages get lost or not arrive for weeks at a time. Thankfully people were mostly very patient with their orders those first few weeks, understanding that we are living in crazy times!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Reheated Coffee Club?
Reheated Coffee Club is a graphic t-shirt company that specializes in customizable designs. We are known for our mommy & me matching tees, with sizes that range anywhere from newborn onesies – 2XL adult tees. We make shirts for moms, dads, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts, infants, toddlers, big kids, and everything in between! We do fun tie-dye options and love to get creative with our designs.
I think what sets us apart from others is that almost everything is completely customizable. For example, if you love a mommy and me style but your daughter has a special name for you, no problem! We’ll switch that up to make those shirts extra special for you.
I’m most proud of our ASL (American Sign Language) line. We do custom ASL names on t-shirts and have other prints like “I love you” in sign that people seem to really like. Coming from a city like St. Augustine where there was an extremely large deaf community, I truly love American Sign language and love seeing people wearing these sign language tees.
