Exploring Life & Business with Expressions of Worship Hunter Rose of Expressions of Worship

Today we’d like to introduce you to Expressions of Worship Hunter Rose

Hi Expressions of Worship, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our founder Ginger Lee has been running Expressions of Worship Dance Studio for the last 31 years. She co-runs it now with her twin sister Christy Clemmons and her daughter Hunter Rose. Through the years the Lord has grown the studio from under a 100 students and couple teachers to having over 400 students and 11 teachers. We love being in the heart of down town Wendell, as it has created a family and a community environment within our studio like no other. We are a Christian dance studio who aims to train up girls not just in dance technique but to teach them to use dance as a way to worship the Lord. The girls are able to display their hard work every year at our Spring Recital where families and friends join in to cheer them on. We feel as if we are living the dream, sharing running this studio as a family, and dancing and praising the Lord together. This studio would not be what it is without our amazing teacher, students, and families.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every dream has its moments of challenges. There have been years where the enrollment inflects the economy or things such as worldwide shut downs make running a business that is an extracurricular to most a challenge. However, the Lord has always provided. We have never had to shut our doors, or turn people away and it was really amazing to see the Lord use really hard things to create a place where we can share hope we others.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Expressions of Worship ?
We are a christian dance studio who strives to bring up the next generation in not only strong dance technique and ability but also teaching them to worship. We offer a variety of styles for students between the ages of 3-18 including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, clogging, hip-hop, acro, pointe, musical theater, and tribal funk. We also run 4 weeks in the summer of our Princess Camp where girls make crafts, eat snacks, play games, learn a dance, do a bible studio on a specific princess each day and this has been a favorite from our parents. We are known for a really family oriented environment. This is not just a business to us but a place to love others and pour out on them our love for dance and the Lord. We love that this is a family run organization and that it continues to grow and expand every year. We love that a lot of our teachers grew up in this studio and now want to come back and teach because they had such a wonderful experience. We are a recreational studio, meaning we do not do competitions but with that being said we can take dancers of all dance levels of experience and they can find a home here.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
You are going to experience highs and lows. It is a hard for any business that is just starting out. Our advice would be to surround yourself with strong, encouraging supporters, have a strong concise goal you are trying to reach, and every time you get a bit of encouragement, write it down. When the hard days come, look back at the list to see that you are making an impact and that what you are doing does matter.
