Exploring Life & Business with Felicia Lucas of Move to Your Best U Coaching Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Lucas.

Hi Felicia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Before the year 2020 came in, many people were talking about 2020 would be the year for a clear vision. As an entrepreneur, I was seeking a clearer vision of taking my publishing company to the next level. God was clear that he wanted me to have a vision, but it was not just about the publishing company. It was about the publisher!

I am also a women’s empowerment speaker and for many years would stand before my audience as a size 30/32 and encourage them to move to their best selves. I was confident as a speaker, smiled, and delivered even when I was out of breath or profusely sweating. I was also classified by my physician as morbidly obese, pre-diabetic, had high cholesterol and high blood pressure issues.

I decided to reach out to a health coach by the end of January that I had met at a women’s event, and she introduced me to a life-changing program and all I needed was to say yes! I decided to go on the journey! I officially started my program on February 24, 2020. The first week I lost 14 pounds. I was overly ecstatic and was more determined than ever to do the program.

March 19, 2020, my corporate job officially shut down due to the Covid-19 virus. I had no idea when I would be returning to work. During the time of the shutdown, I followed my health program and was making the most of an uncertain situation.

I returned to work at the beginning of May, and people were so amazed that I had lost weight over those two months. Over the course of the next eight months, I was very successful in my program. I was shrinking right before them. People began to stare and some would ask, what are you doing? Some would say, “You look fabulous!” I would share with them that I had incorporated a healthy lifestyle change. Amazingly, I released 145 pounds total and over 100 inches in those 10 months without having gastric bypass surgery or the sleeve, and without using diet pills, drink to shrink, or injections.

This transformation has completely changed my life! I am so glad I said yes… and that I keep saying yes to me! It blows my mind that I literally released a person and what was “weighing” me down.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not… I have struggled with my weight ever since I was in middle school over 35 years ago. I think about all of the opportunities that I missed over the years as a result of my health and wellness. I have come to realize that weight loss is not just about weight, it is about identifying what caused the weight to come on and dealing with past issues.

Many people have early traumas which keep them stuck as an adult. That was some… I had to forgive some who had mishandled me over the years, so I could freely walk into my new season. I realized that I had been waiting on apologies that I would never get! My transformation process gave me the chance to move on with my life and to release the chains holding me back.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Here is one of my stories of experiencing a challenge:

It was a clear and sunny day, and my family and I were on our summer vacation. On this particular vacation, we chose a full day at a theme park. While growing up, I was adventurous, so whenever I visited a theme park, I would ride daring rides, including roller coasters. I remember riding a few roller coasters over and over again. Sometimes, eight to ten times in a row. Standing in a long line in the hot July heat was well worth the thrill that the ride provided me. I honestly enjoyed that funny feeling that I would get in my stomach as the roller coaster would make sharp turns and drop quickly from a higher altitude. The higher the thrill level, the more I wanted to ride it.

My husband suggested that we ride one of the low-level thrill attractions. He and I stood in line for a few minutes, and, at the appropriate time, proceeded to our seats to begin the ride. He instantly gets into his seat, buckles up, and waits for the ride to begin. I go to my seat, sit down, grab the seat belt, and guess what, I can’t get it to clasp. I pull and pull, but I can’t get it to budge.

It didn’t clasp because I was TOO FAT FOR THE RIDE! The ride operator came over and also tried to buckle it and was unable to do it as well. He politely said, “Sorry ma’am you will need to exit the ride.” Oh, boy was I so embarrassed. I remember walking towards the exit and sitting down on the bench. I chose to not inform my husband of what was happening at that moment. I watched as he went around and around on the ride, having fun, while I sat with tears rolling down my cheeks.

We were at Walt Disney World, in Florida, which is often called “The Most Happiest Place on Earth”. On our way out of the park, we captured a photo with a very relevant message, Let the Memories Begin! This was one day of my life that I would never forget!
