Exploring Life & Business with Jasmine Morgan of PONDR Blog

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Morgan.

Jasmine Morgan

Jasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up as the eldest child of the family, I was no stranger to leadership or care. In school, my teachers often designated me leadership roles because they knew I wouldn’t abuse my power. My teacher would often say to my mother, “Jasmine is such the humanitarian.” From elementary school to now the school of life, that hasn’t changed.

While there isn’t just one story of my life, I think the most important one is that I am not a woman fueled by power and accolades; I simply want to use my influence to help other women feel just as empowered and ultimately cared for.

What life looks like now is being a Lifestyle Coach who founded a lifestyle + entertainment blog for women called PONDR. Initially, I wanted to show women how to enjoy life to the fullest by releasing their negative limiting beliefs, but now I share enjoyable activities that women can use to have fun with their loved ones and create memories that matter.

My personal motto in life is to “Live like it’s a Luxury” because life truly is. As someone who triumphed through depression in undergrad, was hospitalized a few years ago from a nearly fatal condition and recovered, as well as losing a loved one of 13+ years to their fight with life, I learned all too well that sometimes life can feel like your enemy, but I want to show women that beyond the bad, life is still a gift. So, my days now are spent helping millennial women create unforgettable experiences with their loved ones that will not only enrich the quality of their relationships but expand their LOVE for life.

By the time this story comes out, I will have added a delightful resource to my blog that will help women have a YEAR of unforgettable fun with their loved ones. It will include activity ideas that women and women with children can use to make memories that matter while they can. I’m blessed that I get to wake up as a professional Memory Maker (or Entertainment Specialist if we’re being formal), and I get to put smiles on people’s faces, hope in their hearts, but most importantly more happy days in their life.

I feel that the most powerful thing that leaders can do is use their influence to create a priceless impact, and I plan on that being my legacy with PONDR.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. The turbulence really started when I decided to turn my impact into a business nearly 5 years ago. I am a writer at heart, so my journey started out as a social media and brand manager, using my writing to help brands share their impact. Then I became a copywriter and developed blog content for a multi-million-dollar retail client. In that role I learned that if I could spend time writing blog content that helps people spend money on things they love, then I could make my own blog that helped people spend quality time with each other DOING things they love.

The biggest obstacle in this journey has been owning my impact. Sometimes, when you are a champion and cheerleader for others, you forget to do the same for yourself. 5 years in business, I’ve learned that faith will take you far. Faith in your mission, faith in your abilities, and faith that what you do will accomplish what you set out to do.

We’ve been impressed with PONDR Blog, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

PONDR is a lifestyle and entertainment blog that helps millennial women have fun with their loved ones and make memories that matter.

This blog was birthed from my own battles with life. I made it through depression + recovered a few years ago from a nearly fatal health condition. I also witnessed a close loved one lose their fight with life, and if anything, moments like this were my reminder that life is precious and that even though there are bad times, we can still fill our life with joy. Like I mentioned earlier in the interview, I’ve always had a heart for others, and probably the most hurtful thing for me to see is someone give up on life. I want to help cure hopelessness by reminding people of what life has to offer and that they don’t have to do life alone. I discuss more topics like this on my Spotify podcast called PONDR Podcast (which can be accessed on the blog).

Essentially I’ve been able to merge my 2 careers into one big mission. I used my marketing experience as a copywriter to develop a blog that allows me to do lifestyle coaching on a grander scale. Instead of building my business based solely on 1 on 1 sessions, I felt it was best to share my advice on a blog platform filled with ways to enrich my client’s lives. That way I’m not limited by a calendar + I can continually impact as many clients as I desire.

What I believe sets PONDR apart is that my business focuses on a timeless impact. This means that all of the activities I share are actually developed around an ENTIRE YEAR of my client’s needs + that ensures them access to a year of fun + relationship enrichment.

Ultimately my mission as a Lifestyle Coach is to “Redefine the Good Life.” I don’t believe that “the good life” is defined by RICHES alone but, by the ENRICHING experiences we get to have in life. We must remember that “experience is our GREATEST currency and we must spend it wisely.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is not defined by how far ahead I get of others but about how far I help others get ahead in life
