Exploring Life & Business with Kimberly Parrott of The ReInspired Home now Simply ReInspired

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Parrott.

Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When Kimberly Parrott moved out on her own into her first apartment, buying brand-new décor wasn’t an option. She turned to yard sales and quickly discovered that beautiful, meaningful spaces don’t require a big budget — they require vision.

That experience became the foundation of The ReInspired Home, her original business, and eventually evolved into Simply Reinspired, a resale and home décor business focused on helping individuals and families create welcoming, intentional spaces at affordable prices.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running my shop hasn’t been a straight path. Even before COVID, long periods of nearby construction made it difficult for customers to easily access the store and slowed business. Not long after, the pandemic brought uncertainty and reduced foot traffic just as many small businesses were trying to stay afloat. As the world began to reopen, a challenging economy meant customers were spending more carefully. Each season brought its own obstacles, but I stayed committed to the shop and continued adapting along the way

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The ReInspired Home now Simply ReInspired?
Kimberly believes that when one person loses inspiration in their home décor, someone else can rediscover it — giving each piece a second life as a ReInspired piece.

Beyond resale, she has made community a cornerstone of her work. Kimberly hosts pop-up markets to provide local small businesses with a platform to showcase their products, and she donates home goods to families and charities in need. Her goal is to make beautiful spaces accessible while giving back to the community.

“I’ve lived the reality of needing affordable options,” Parrott said. “I want my customers to feel inspired, not pressured, when they walk into their homes.”

How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t measured only by numbers or growth. Success is having the opportunity to do what you love. Building and running my shop has come with challenges—uncertain seasons, changing markets, and moments that required resilience—but being able to wake up each day and create something meaningful makes it worthwhile. Success is the freedom to pursue work that inspires you, serve others through it, and continue doing the thing that brings you joy.
