Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Royall.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a wedding and travel aficionado who’s been fortunate enough to combine my passions with my career. I first got involved with planning weddings in Wilmington through a woman who was both a successful business owner at a flower shop and also an incredible wedding planner. She inspired me to establish my own company, and she prepared me for such a unique industry.

Thanks to her inspiration, I started planning weddings in Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas in 2018. It has been such an incredible experience coordinating several weddings and watching each one end in true love and a desire to stand by one another’s sides through the good times and bad.

Speaking of bad times, I think we can all say that we felt this way when COVID showed up. The wedding industry was disrupted and turned upside down, and instead of being frustrated, I realized it was an opportunity to truly redefine my goals and passions.

Therefore, I decided to take a look at designing an interactive event that would allow vendors to collaborate while networking with potential clients, and The Royall Rehearsal was born. This event is a staged and self-guided tour of three different venues in Cary, NC. The goal of the event is to give engaged couples the opportunity to interact with vendors and see their work in action, rather than just simply reading reviews or walking by a trade show booth. While the engaged couples will be completely immersed in the music, food, drinks, and services provided by each wedding vendor, the vendors will also be able to network with other industry professionals in order to reach their full growth potential.

There’s nothing better than a single event that not only solves the problem of engaged couples finding their vendors but also provides a solution to the vendors looking for ways to network with their fellow industry peers. With the purchase of the event ticket, brides and grooms will have access to free honeymoon planning through my travel agency, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I feel like the road less traveled will never be smooth, especially when a pandemic decides to develop quite the bump in the road. However, when you learn to maneuver through the winding roads and challenges, you will always meet your destination with a new sense of beauty and grace you never saw before. While wedding planning was what I thought I would do forever, the winding roads led me to the opportunity to purchase a travel agency and the birth of an event that can bring solutions to both vendors and clients.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Royall Events & Travel?
My services include travel planning and connecting engaged couples with the right vendors for their wedding day. I am most proud of the fact that The Royall Rehearsal was a distant vision, and now thanks to over 40 vendors and counting, it is actually happening! This event sets me apart from others because rather than trying to be a competitor in the marketplace, I can be a connection for the couples who are looking for their vendors and a connection for the vendors in the wedding industry looking for companies to partner with to provide the best services to their clients.

How do you define success?
Success is seeing photos of your clients enjoying their trips booked by you. Success is hearing back from your brides and grooms with the raving reviews from their wedding. Success is connecting wedding vendors to each other while also leading them to potential clients.

In the end, success is offering satisfaction to the clients and connections you encounter daily. Success is the happiness of others thanks to what you have been able to provide to them. That’s success.
