Exploring Life & Business with Linda Seaman of One Life Natural Market

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Seaman.

Hi Linda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We are Art and Linda Seaman. I (Linda) first became interested in natural healing and nutrition when my son Ryan was born. I wanted to give him only the best and made his baby food from scratch. My health journey began many years ago. I went back to work; unfortunately, life became busy and stressful. I fell into the trap of convenience and junk foods. It wasn’t uncommon for me to have lunch daily at McDonald’s and drink multiple sodas daily! Sadly, Cheetos and Chips Ahoy became my favorite binge foods. I’m convinced the stress and poor diet created a lot of health issues for me. In 2013 my mother was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. This was a reawakening for me. It brought me to my knees and back to my roots, and back to my commitment to live well.

In 2014 I met Art, and I have slowly brought Art over to the joy of living well, but Art also helps to balance me. Due to my health problems, I had to “retire” in 2019 from my career as a dental hygienist. Sharing health knowledge through nutrition and supplementation has become my passion, and now I can share that passion with everyone through our store, One Life Natural Market.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t know if opening a business could ever be a smooth road, and I often tell people if I had known then what I know now, I probably would have been terrified to leap! We opened in October 2019, and within our first 6 months of business, we faced the failure and total loss of our refrigerator and freezer, an underperforming air conditioning unit which led to a major battle with our landlord. Then the world shut down for Covid. We’re still standing, and with the Lord’s help and guidance, we are thriving!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
With One Life Natural Market, we bring healthy options to a rural community in Harnett county. We stock a full assortment of vitamins, essential oils, CBD, and supplements. We carry non-toxic cleaning supplies and health and beauty items. We focus on clean ingredients for our foods and offer hard-to-find specialty foods, including gluten-free, keto, diabetic, paleo, and vegan. Each of our products is hand-picked, and we are thoroughly educated on all of our products. Our greatest joy is sharing that knowledge with our customers! We also offer Ionic Foot Detox Baths, which gently stimulate the body to detoxify and have been a life-changer for me.

We look forward to continuing to serve rural Harnett county, and we pray to expand our business. We would love for One Life Natural Market to become a one-stop wellness center in the future.
