Hi Liya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always loved art in all its forms—painting, photography, and even cooking. Before becoming a photographer, I worked as both a kindergarten teacher and a chef. Teaching taught me patience and how to truly see people, while culinary art showed me how creativity, balance, and emotion can come together to tell a story.
I began taking photos casually for the people around me, capturing everyday moments without realizing I was laying the foundation for my photography journey. After becoming a mom, I wanted a flexible schedule and a career that aligned with my creativity and family life. That led me to start my own family photography business.
Now in my third year as a family photographer, I focus on capturing genuine connections and meaningful moments. My work is inspired by motherhood, childhood, and the quiet beauty of real life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my biggest challenges has been the business side of photography. Marketing and self-promotion don’t come naturally to me, and I’ve had to learn them slowly while staying true to who I am. But I believe genuine work finds its way to the right people, and I continue to grow by focusing on creating meaningful images and authentic connections.

My business is a photography brand focused on storytelling, connection, and authenticity. I offer family, senior, maternity, branding, and professional headshot sessions, working with both families and small business owners. No matter the session type, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel natural, meaningful, and timeless.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’m deeply grateful for my loyal clients who truly appreciate my work and have supported me throughout my journey. Their trust and encouragement mean everything to me, and they are a big part of why I continue to grow and create with purpose.
