Hi Mackenzie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I found myself at a crossroads in 2019 when my Wife and I were pregnant with our youngest. I had the opportunity to reset and reflect on what I would like to do for my career in the future. I would always joke with my Wife about her love for HGTV and real estate shows. I realized though that I was also interested in the same things. I started looking into careers in real estate and began looking into becoming a Home Inspector. I realized that becoming a Home Inspector would allow me to do something I had a passion for while also giving me the opportunity to create and build my own company.
I started on my Home Inspection journey with American Home Inspectors Training (AHIT). With AHIT, you are given the tools you need not only to become a Home Inspector but to also successfully launch your own company. AHIT was an excellent fit for me, and I feel very fortunate that I was able to gain the skills I have from them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have definitely been some obstacles along the way. I realize though that this is part of the territory of Entrepreneurship. Getting a new company off the ground and breaking into a new industry has definitely been a challenge. My family has been my support system. They have allowed me to keep pushing forward despite any struggles. I believe that staying consistent and being a professional with your craft will prevail in the end.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have always loved a good laugh and enjoy joking with others. I am a sports fanatic and was always fairly competitive growing up. I found my competitive nature as a child while playing video games. If you were competing against me as a kid in Mortal Kombat, 007, Madden, or NBA 2K, it was on! Now I try to use this competitive nature to push myself forward and to always make sure to grow and strive for better.
I was also a huge Wrestling fan as a kid and might have re-enacted a few wrestling moves on my younger brother. Sorry bro!
