Hi Markia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi my name is Markia McFadden, I am a Licensed Cosmetologist, but I specialize in waxing . I attended Paul Mitchell The School of Raleigh. Once you are close to graduation they have a job fair . All the local salons and different businesses in the industry would attend this event . I choose to pursue waxing and I worked under a franchise for 3 years and I became really good at my craft. So I decided to start my own business and Jan 14, 2026 has made a year being in business . Last year was a very successful year and I can’t wait to see what this year holds for me and my business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Far as running the business it has been a smooth road. I have had some minor challenges nothing major but it’s a learning process. I really enjoy what I do I feel like challenges come as a way to help you grow, as an individual or a business owner .

Well I offer full body waxing services and vajacial services. What sets me apart from any other waxer is how I treat my clients . From the minute they walk through the door they are treated like royalty because waxing is a luxury service. Even when I’m providing wax services to my client I know how to apply pressure so they don’t feel as much pain it’s a technique that I have mastered over the years . I love to make people smile and feel good and I’m in the business of enhancing their natural beauty. All new clients get 20% off on there first wax and for my clients that refer me they also receive $10 off there next service. I also give 20% off for students . I am proud of my business and I am working on launching more new services this summer.
